The Deep
Greetings!
We, The Nightly Party-Up Crew (spanning BOOM, RAiD, AoL, and DPW that group up nightly), have decided we want to conquer The Deep! Now we know we are NOT the only ones here in our Alliance who are interested in this, because let's face it tasty trophy... good times with eleven other people within the Alliance.... c'mon what else could anyone want? (people complain they never get to do things with live allies, or this Alliance does nothing together, or they're bored and there's just nothing *dramatic swoon* to do in GW ... here's your chance!)
This group is not running the standard PVX Wiki Team-Build, and vent is a must (even if you can\'t talk, you can listen to the team-leader and type in team-chat).
So far here's what we have culled from the Alliance to form the Twelve-man Team:
1. Warrior - Darian (BOOM) team-leader
2. Warrior - Bruce (RAiD)
3. Warrior - Baronous (AoL)
4. Fire Ele - Amer (AoL)
5. Fire Ele - Kiara Firebane (DPW)
6. Fire Ele - Silvia Violetfire (iE)
7. Necro - Click (BOOM) running SS
8. Necro - Minsc (AoL) running BiP
9. Monk - Kiera (AoL)
10. Monk - Logan (AoL)
11. Monk - Bane (AoL)
12. Resto Rit - Asmodeus (RAiD)
Post if you\'re interested and for what spot! Do plan for roughly two-hours simply because it should be less time BUT I\'d rather people have the time blocked off so they don\'t have to bail and leave the team hanging..... Darian will be posting the builds for the Team in a follow-up.
Regards and see you in Cavalon!

*The Alt-List in case one of the 12 can't make it*

2. Jid of RAiD is up for being an Alt and can run sin or ranger
3. Surma Shera of RAiD is up for being an Alt and can run necro or sin

Re: The Deep
Here are the builds for the various team members needed.
Warrior:
OQcSE5KP6R8SWJtg72KD2OH
This is the original build for this run, a much preferred way would be the following
OQcSE5KT0F4FZFpF4O2kDWdO
The knockdown skills are a must for killing Kanaxai at the end.
Elementalist:
OgVCoMzDdbsuEAG+CkBuAjD
This is the original way, nothing special basically the standard Searing Flame build.
Necromancer:
OAVEQVhWeswHC9SkHfxVUBdC
The SS build, Inspired Enchantment/Revealed Enchantment and Spinal Shiver/Shivers of Dread are musts.
OAllQoFlBamn4Iv/CXhdsGGDPHuD
The BIP build, Monks are the priority targets with Eles being second.
Monk:
OwAT04XCTKuajguqe4jIHUiQmAA
This build is for Hardmode, in Normalmode only one or two Monks would need to have this build to keep Protective Spirit on the BIP and also Rebirth is needed after entering the 3rd room.
OwAT043AZKuajgu6u5jIHUiANCA
This build is used for Normal mode, Resurrection Chant gets casting bonus from Healer's Boon for a quick res during battle, one or two Monks would run this build.
Equipments:
All Warriors would need to have a cold weapon to go along with Spinal Shiver/Shivers of Dread, an ideal weapon would be Icy xxx Sword/Axe of Fortitude with an "I Have The Power" inscription.
It's recommanded that all casters (Monk/Necro/Ele) have a caster weapon set (Sword, Axes or Spear with an offhand), Sapping Nightmares from room 9 and on tend to cast Chaos Storms on people that are using Wands or Staves.
Caster Weapon Set:
A Caster Weapon Set is usually referred to an one-handed weapon (Axe/Sword/Spear) to go with either a Shield or an Offhand, in this run we would go with an Offhand for extra energy. An Ideal Caster Weapon for this run would be any Axe/Sword/Spear of Enchantment with an "I Have The Power" inscription, Totem Axes , Spirit of the Forgotten and Rajazan's Fervor are perfect for this build as far as green weapons go.
As for the Offhands I would either go with one that has 20%/20% Faster Cast/Recharge or 20% Faster Recharge and +30 Life mods (the 20% Faster Cast/Recharge are referring Fire Magic for Elementalists, Curse/Blood for the two Necromancers depending on build and Healing Prayers for Monks), alternative for the Offhand can be a 10% Faster Recharge for all spells and +30 life as long as you meet the requirement of the Offhand to get the +12 energy bonus. If you don't already have one then you can either craft one or get one from collectors in the game.
Offhand Collector's Listing:
Elementalists:
Fire Magic 20% Faster Cast/20% Faster Recharge:
Sir Pohl Sanbert in Arid Sea, need 5x Dun Burrower's Jaw.
Goran Grimyak in Mineral Springs, need 5x Feathered Avicara Scalps.
Yiwong in Imperial Sanctum, need 5x Soul Stones.
Fire Magic 20% Faster Recharge/+30:
Adept of Elements in Divine Path, need 1x Amulet of the Mist.
Necromancer:
Blood 20% Faster Cast/20% Faster Recharge:
Volsung Stoneketil in Talus Chute, need 5x Feathered Avicara Scalps.
Jefri Whylir in Aurios Mines, need 5x Bone Charms.
Blood 20% Faster Recharge/+30 Life:
Adept of Bone in Divine Path, need 1x Amulet of the Mist.
Curse 20% Faster Cast/20% Faster Recharge:
Cinder Linnwood in Diviner's Ascend, need 5x Bleached Carapaces.
Artor Bobani Kiroz in Altrumn Ruins, need 5x Warden Horns.
Curse 20% Faster Cast/+30 Life:
Adept of Bone in Divine Path, need 1x Amulet of the Mist.
Monk:
Healing Prayers 20% Faster Cast/20% Faster Recharge:
Mourn Drakespur in Skyward Reach, need 5x Dessicated Hydra Claws.
Radamon in Snake Dance, need 5x Huge Jawbones.
Keotah in Silent Surf, need 5x Azure Crests.
Healing Prayers 20% Faster Recharge/+30 Life:
Bahlbahs in Vehjins Mines, need 5x Behemoth Hides.
Adept of Light in Divine Path, need 1x Amulet of the Mist.
IF anyone who's unable to obtain a Caster Weapon Set by the time of the run, just take off the Staff/Wand that you have in rooms with Sapping Nightmares and go bare-hand, it'd drop your energy down but still would have avoided the Chaos Storms this way.
Right now my spot is the Warrior but if anyone else wish to do that I can switch to any of the other 3 professions needed. If anyone has any questions please feel free to contact me in game, my IGN is Darian Henkerson.

I'll go monk. Can't look at the builds atm cuz I'm on my iPhone but I probably will need some tomes. If no then yay! On a sidenote would a totem axe and offhand work? And my offhand is non inscribed atm so what would be a good inscription for that?

Right now we're hovering around Saturday (12-Sept) or Sunday (13-Sept) this coming weekend (allows everyone plenty of time to get setup and borrow/make weapons) starting any time after 7:30 pm EST as there's a couple of people committed that can't be online before then.

Totem Axe would be a great caster weapon for Monks in this run, anything that's NOT a Wand or a Staff would do as the Sapping Nightmares in the Deep are aiming to attack and drain energy from casters and I guess the type of weapon is what they are using to spot a caster. For the offhand I'd use something that has 20% Faster Recharge of Healing Prayers and +30 life mods.

Note to add--- for anyone short on the normal skills or in need of capping the elite in order to run the bars listed here, OR in need of one of the weapons, let me know and you/me can go on a rampage this week for either capping/getting to where the Skill(s) can be bought. On the weapons or mods, I'm more than happy to camp out with anyone in either Spamadan or LA while you seek the equipment or mods and just keep ya company with corny jokes etc
Also don't forget the WTB section here on the forum and Guild Wars Guru (the sellers in alliance prolly are not going to check a post about the Deep LOL)

I'd much prefer you get the caster weapon set as it's not just for you but also the safety of other team members. I have seen a whole team wiped at room 9 because someone didn't switch away from using a staff, when you have a dozen or so Sapping Nightmares casting Chaos Storm the entire caster part of the group died within 3 seconds since we were standing close to each other, given that was in Hardmode but let's not take any chances if we don't have to

Re: The Deep
As most of you already know we did a practice run earlier tonight just so we kinda get a hang on how to use the build, with only 6 people and 3 heroes we were able to make to the Aspect of Scorpion room, arguably the hardest room of the whole mission. With a full team of real people I'm confident that we can get through to the end without any problems as the people that came along tonight are catch up quick with how to use the builds.
So right now the time for this run is set to happen at 10PM Eastern Time on Saturday, the 12th of September, for those of you that have signed up please make a note to be present at that time. If anyone wishes to come but the professions that you would like to bring is already filled up, please post a note here and be online at the time of the run, in case someone from the team cannot make it for some reason we'll be sure to call on you.
Once again thanks all that came along tonight for the practice run, looking forward to the real thing soon.

Foci are fine to use here, the Sapping Nightmares have two skills they use to drain energy, Chaos Storm and Spirit Shackle, anyone who uses Wands/Staves will get hit with Chaos Storm but if everyone in the party uses a Caster Weapon of Axe/Sword/Spear then the only thing they'll cast on you is Spirit Shackle which would do no harm to anyone basically.

Unless you REALLY like the skin of the spear I'd suggest just make a Caster Weapon instead of rushing your char there, would save you a lot time and not having to use a key for it, the mods for a Caster Weapon aren't really hard to find and even if you have to buy the 20% enchant mod and the inscription they aren't expensive at all.

Well, you and I might have different definitions of 'cheap.' I've got 5plat. If I can buy a caster weapon for that much, then we're golden. If not, NF, here I come!

Re: The Deep
Silvia you can. It's called a totem axe it's a green axe that's 20% enchant and plus 5 energy as well as something to do with adrenaline. It's the very simple cheap caster weapon the most 55 monks use. Those sell for 4-5k in la kamadan or kc. They aren't too hard to find. Thing is that you need a focus if you use that weapon or basically any caster weapon other than a scythe or hammer. But if you really need to do NF I'm gonna be getting to vabbi with my monk so I can cap HB.

The Totem Axe is a cheap Caster Weapon but at the cost of an EXTREMLY FUGLY skin imo Silvia if you are really strapped for money we can go out and farm one today, the Behemoth in The Fall drops that and we can do it with a group of 3-4 people, there are about a dozen of Behemoth in the area as I remember and each of them can drop the green.

Especially when you can chop the doll's head off with your axe. Works great if you chant voodoo magic too.

Not sure if I'll be on GW tonight, I won't be getting home from work until 9:30pm, then I have to make dinner. But I'll ping A/C if I do logon, tonight or later this week.

Re: The Deep
Correct Haru but Logan, Womby and Force with Bane put in for the monk spots prior to your post :so we're waiting on Womby to see if he can make it or not. We would love to have people speak up that are interested but can't commit in case spots need filling in, so I've added you as an alt to monk if you're on

Re: The Deep
Thank you Womby for letting us know you may not be able to commit *grins* rather than mid-run. Full Line-Up for Saturday night is now posted, Asmodeus has switched from necro to rit as he enjoys that profession more and feels he will be a greater contribution running that class and Click of BOOM has offered to be the SS Necro.
We're continuing the nightly practice runs, team size doesn't matter so long as there's 1 War, 1 ele, 1 monk in each room as that's our biggest time-hog getting the show on the road Saturday night.... so even if there's three or six on at one time between now and then, group up and good luck!
Anyone interested in being an alt for any of the professions and their bars listed on page 1 by Darian, please feel free to post your name and which bar, as we all know life has funny ways of interferring even with the best laid plans!.

Re: The Deep
Tonight we did another practice run with 9 people and this time we were a relatively balanced group that had all the essential elements present, however with Mr. Logan D/C about 20 mins into the mission we were down to only 1 monk (Kiera FTW!), I didn't have a lot faith in the run (being the pessimist I am) but to my surprise we made all the way to Kanaxai, only to fail at the end because with only 1 monk we weren't able to keep up with both the degen and the fury from Kanaxai... The bright side of this is that everyone did extremely well even under my intense/impatient coaching, we are definitely ready for the run. Thank you all that came along for the run, and thank you all for putting up with me throughout the experience, looking forward to the end chest on Saturday.
