Posting and Clutter

Hey all it's Judge. I know that all of you who use the forum have immense fun with it as do I. However, I have encountered some who prefer that the forum be less...clutter-y. I know all of us love posting, but I believe that we need to avoid filling the forum up with useless clutter. It's ok to post a "welcome to the guild!" post in an introductory thread but I'm referring to things like useless one liners i.e. "cool!," "yea!," or even . Personally I don't like seeing all these things. It makes the forum messy and I lose track of a lot of posts this way. Especially posts that have a SPECIFIC meaning yet are still filled with clutter. For example, the "Sigs" thread. That thread was only meant for the requesting and unveiling of sigs. Yet there were so many useless posts that I had to delete to clean up the clutter (and amazingly, there are still 80+ posts). Also, the "Pictures Galore" post. I think its 100% ok to comment on someone's picture (i.e. Gorwad and ROFL) but there are also tons of useless posts in their. I mean whole conversations are going on in a thread! We DON'T need that in a thread unless it is SPECIFICALLY geared toward it. Now we all know people like Kiera are forum trolls, but that is her special mark and it's not like she constantly fills up posts with her own. I'm not trying to be a bad person, I'm just trying to make people more self aware that there are other people who use the forum that would rather see less clutter. Thanks all for understanding.

I am surprised this is no longer a sticky. Granted Judge pissed everyone off and left AoL, I still view this as one of the most important threads on the forum. If you've seen my activity lately on the Random forum you know what I mean.

I believe that clutter should definitely be avoided as much as possible, but it's my opinion that in a section such as the Random section, people should be allowed to be just that random. It's not as though people are going to look for references to pve builds or urgoz run dates. Everything in that section is pretty much for fun and such, or so I believe. But for pretty much every other section I agree with this less clutter idea.

I don't think that the unsticky of this thread was meant in any way as a diminishment towards the author who took the time to write it up. As with other posts that become unsticky, while their content has valuable points... it seems to me that outside of the Random Board (which was meant as the place where people could spaz out and have fun with each other and the posts there), we have come a long way and everyone is doing their part to self-police their own posts to ensure they're trying to stay some what relevant to the topic being commented on. As Judge noted, he was not trying to supress speech.

meh well I guess every1 has the opposite end of the spectrum involving views on Random's purpose as more of topic-centric randomness than post-centric (of course in NO WAY do i think "random topics" like Laurana's randomness need to be strict, those with specific topics like pictures do not need such as a whole friggin page filled up with total spam chain about world domination) sooo uh I guess I'll leave forum mod kiera to spell it all out above me.
