sPVP Questions
Alrighty, after having the the private arena for a few weeks now. I've fought most of you in these matches. I've been told i'm coming off as trolly. That's not what i'm trying to do. Neither is pissing off my guild mates while we do these matches.
What I would like you guys to know is this. I'm not the best in pvp (this isn't a oh Midway is terrible thing), i've faced many people WAY better then me in the time i've been pvping. I'm about middle of the pack if I were to rank myself. Please don't get upset when you have to face me. See it as a challenge to test yourselves. If you really want to get into pvp. Ask me questions, i'll try my best to answer them. Hell i'll even tell ya how to beat the class/spec i'm playing. If ya want to know how to get better at your own class ask me. If i don't have the answers, i'm sure Mutt or other guildies would probably have an idea.
Just don't be afraid to ask questions. The only way to learn is to ask a question. Don't take this post as if it is saying you're terrible. A lot of you can be a challenge to fight. The ones that feel as though I walk through you. It may just be the case that the class i'm running is your classes's counter.
Please please take this post as an olive branch. We're here to help you guys.

Re: sPVP Questions
Midway,
You should not feel like that, part of PvP is working together as a group. From what I have seen you work very well with your team. Which plays a huge role in winning PvP. You win some you lose some as long as you are having fun. I as well will be glad to share some of the builds that I use for PvP and even spar with people if they want to try out there builds.

Re: sPVP Questions
Maybe, give people a heads up if you are planning to test their skills. It isn't really testing someone's skills if they are not even expecting that an attack is possible. When we do the "This is just for dailies matches" people are often just putzing around. Getting suddenly annihilated in flurry may just give them a WTF attitude. I know in PvP an attack can come from anywhere, and anytime; but if they are thinking this is just a daily run, they are not in that frame of mind at all.

Re: sPVP Questions
Short answer based on guildchat i assumed (falsely clearly) that private arena was really just for people who didn't want to spend too much time in spvp to knock out the dailies. People expecting one thing and getting something else could be part of why some people aren't enjoying the experience.
- long answer:
- I think partially it is also the fact it just feels bad to lose or feel like the skill gap is too vast (this just takes time to acclimatize to measure yourself again your own best worst performances and only use others as inspiration rather than a measuring stick) i think honestly not being able to deal with the fact that if spend time in pvp you will find match up you destroy and opponents who destroy you and everything in between those extremes.
I will definitely look to spend some time in the private arena when i see people are playing or looking for people to play in it.
I could also use some practice as presently i find good eles, mesmers and thieves near impossible to deal with unless they mess (playing mostly on a dps guardian and a warrior). Eles i find tough because it feels they can sustain forever while also pushing out healing and damage in the same build pretty effectively, mesmers are tough because between clones/dodges/invis/invuln and cc if they don't want me to do something i don't feel like i have a solution, thieves just tend to stealth and shortbow 5 away from any fight they feel they might be losing and blow me up out of stealth. Any advice people have who either play these classes or find them to not all that hard to beat would be welcomed. Thank you.
Condi engi is also painful since i feel like i melt if they look at me but i haven't faced many so maybe i just need time to figure out what abilities i need to be looking to mitigate and which i can't get hit by without immediately keeling over dead.

Re: sPVP Questions
Thanks Pax. We just need to have a dividing line between. This is for dailies, and this is for training. I want our PvP arena to be used for both. It is great to just get quick dailies, but I want it to be a place for people to become comfortable with actual PvP. It should be used as a training ground too.

Re: sPVP Questions
Thanks for the link Mutt.
I'd be interested in learning more things to make me a better player in pvp so i'm glad their is an interest in teaching and the private arena as a tool to facilitate that.

Re: sPVP Questions
well the spvp is Structured PvP that is a Player versus Player mode which allows competition on an even footing. Structured PvP – players have access to top level equipment and all of their available skills and traits.
in guild wars 2 pvp the spvp is one of the mode that the game offers. so its like sky hammer where you have to cap points a,b and c while fighting against other players that are doing the same.
