PVP BUILDS POST!!!!

THIS POST IS FOR TEAM BUILDS AND INDIVIDUAL BUILDS FOR PVP


Please follow the following format when posting:

1. Name of Build if team put team in bold before (be descriptive but simple)
2. Profession/s and number of, if team (i.e. Ranger/RT or 2-Elementalist/Mo)
3. List Skills in order 1-8, if team build then clarify profesion
4. Usage, Equipment, Screenshots if helpful.

TEAM - RANGERWAY SPIKE (old school) - Team Arenas

4- Ranger/any
Build: Punishing Shot, Dual Shot/Forked Arrow, Savage Shot, Read the wind (prep), Whirling Defense or Troll unguent, Nature Rit or Conjure "Element", Res Sig

Rangerway Spike (old school)

Equipment:
Bows:: Hornbows work for more damage, Recurves for fast spike, Sundering mods for spike damage, elemental mod for heavy armor...

This is old school but I think it would be worth a shot, and maybe it will net us some wins in TA

JUST a thought

what about some sort of team where their would b 2 monks
1 with sheild of judgement
1 with sheild breaker
both with arcane mimicry
that way they both could have both elites at all times

this would help the team with both defense and offense
through in tainted flesh for fun

Yeah, thats sounds like it could work for monks, but what about the rest of the teams?????

I have been toying with the ideas of a dual monk build, with a tainted necro and maybe either a warrior, RaO Axe or thumper ranger, or an escape scythe ranger..


Another good idea, if it could be done, is a dual Escape R/D, WoD Necro or Fast cast mesmer/ele, WoH Monk.... these all are being researched

Ok I have another Build for rangers, looks like it would work...

FIERY QUICKSHOT RANGER
Ranger/Elementalist
Build:: Quick Shot*, Needling Shot, Savage Shot, Dual Arrow, Kindle Arrows, Conjure Flame, Troll Unguent, Res Sig.

Usage:

• Use Kindle Arrows & Conjure Flame
  
• Attack your opponent with a normal bow attack and immediately follow up with quickshot
  
• Use Dual Shot to speed up the damaging process
  
• When your opponent is under 50% health, use needling shot to finish him off
  
• Use Savage Shot to interrupt and cause extra damage
  
• Self-heal with Troll Unguent
  

Equipment:
Zealous, Sundering, Vampiric Recurve bow of Fortitude, 15^50% damage or 15^while enchanted.

Other information:
Substitute a running skill or mark of rodgort for Res Sig, AB Use only.

what if a paragon takes mark of rodgort
take out kindle arrows from one of the rangers
throw in great conflugation (the one that makes u do fire damage)

the paragon could toss up "their on fire"
the rangers have a free skill slot so add burning shot?

it could b the PARARANGER SIEGE OF FLAMES!!!

Oh yeah Mighty, that could work..

We would be killer!!! bring an ele with mark of rodgort, and you could try your burning lance build, just watch that energy... and you could throw up protective shouts, monk could take care of healing and hex removal. . .

so

Warrior (Tanking just for absorbing damage...)

Ranger (*Burning Arrow* spike damage ranger)

Ranger (*Greater Conflugation* Disruptng Ranger)

Paragon (Mark of Rodgort+"Their on Fire")

Ele (Fire damage AoE)

Ele ( Earth/ Earth Shackles (works with teams burning) with wards and knockdowns for extra support could b hybrid water for more snares)

Monk (typical protection monk/ Aegis/ Restore Condition)

Monk (typical healing monk/ Word of healing/ HB)

Warriors just for distraction and absorbing mass amounts of damage the real powers comes with the rangers and the
paragons burning damage...iam sure Paragon could have
"Tainted Flesh" to b an effective way of spread disease with the
tank (given its better armor its safer that way) the opposing
team will but pressured because the near constant burning
plus the editional condition cause skills of the ranger and the
paragon...the ele would assist in AoE burning and damge
the other ele would use earth shackles (90% slower on burning target) to assist in kills and to stop aggresive foes...one ranger
would try and focus on interupting key skills of the enemies spellcasters and midline the other would try and focus on weaker
targets pilling condtions whereever the see fit...the paragon and
eles would spread mark of rodgort whenever possible as burning
is essential our way of offense and defense (give "Thier on Fire which reduces burning foes damage output by 30%)

We'd have to watch out for hex removel which is fairly common in a gvg setting we could proll off set these by having a necro
or mesmer run cover hexes...

Warriors would have that insignia that gives 100 armor agaist ele damage

Rangers would have that insignia that gives u armor agaist fire damage
Same for the eles

but thats the bulk of my idea i need time to think of details

Instead of monks, I would suggest spirit light ritualist and weapon of remedy, maybe with a hex removal on them..

This is because the greater conflag spririt would have great synergy with the spirit light rit, and they could also drop life spirits for extra heals.

Otherwise, the build sounds feasible for a try in GvG or HA (probably more HA)..

I will attempt to build these using the GWTeamBuilder.

Its a program that lets you make builds and see a bunch of builds at one time together so that you can make teams and crap. Its pretty neat, and you can save the builds to templates for use in GW.

Here is a HA build I have been trying to cook up while at work.

TEAM- Maul Mighty's Face-using-pets-wards-and-spirits-WAY (sorry mighty, I will change this once I find a name. you are a celebrity man)

TEAM:
2 R/W RaO Thumpers or R/P EnragedSpear or R/W EnragedAxe
1 R/any NR Tranquility Trapper
2 E/any WaH (or other prot wards) snare/dps eles
1 RT/N spirit spam, hex removal, dps Ritualist or OTHER DPS Character w/o hexes
2 RT/any Spirit Light, Warmonger support or Healing Ritualists

I have the builds and will discuss later how this team build works... it is quite simple and looks to be effective when on paper.....

HA BUILDS

typical spike build

2 monks 6 dmg dealers

6 dmg dealers normaly i play , fire eles searing flames , searing heat , or starburst. i have also done , 6 necros.

this is not the easyest team build becose it requires vent count down , lag can be a issue.


i have also played a 8 paragons build , where everyone as about 4 defence sills that affect all team , chats mostly , and 4 atack spear skills.

i remember one of the chants makes all paragons skills cost half adrenaline.

we can find this builds in wiki preaty fast.

one thing i think its really good to have for pvp , is a pvp slot. just for one reason , when we are making a team build , if everyone as pvp caracters , its really easy to ping equipment for everyone to load , this can save huge amount of time making the group.

we all have favorit professions we like to play , but from my experience its really cool to load a totaly unknown build/profession/equip , and start owning with it.

the biggest tip of all that i have learned for HA

after you get a group of 8 ... do not leave the group or start thinking about changing to the build totaly , just becose you lost 2 or 3 matches. builds take time for the team to get used to. if you stick with it for at least 30 min , just keep going in , the chances of geting fame are much higher , then if you keep leaving the group and changing your build. its really hard to get 8 , so dont leave once you get it. also becose its random the level of the team you are geting , you can get a elite gvg guild , or you can get a random way ... you should never judge the team build after 2 or 3 matches. takes longer.

LOL, Like I said mighty.... My RaNgEr vs. Your Parry.. Anytyme! (YES, parry's are good, so are rangers, argument's a wash if you ask me)

Ok, Yes Neo is right with that structure, Most builds for HA are 2heal/6DPS... And Personally I liked doing the SF Eles the other night... (good explanation on that, Neo)

Ok so I know PvXWiki is for losers, but I get some good ideas from it...

And lately I had an epiphany when looking at builds and skills for my ranger...

Incendiary Arrows is like Burning Interrupting Volley!!! so yeah I am a LOSER...

I personally have no issues with the PvX Wiki, it's a great place to start. I know there are a lot of teams that go into HA running a sawy team build.

heres something i thought of, i purposely used skills that are "out of the norm" because i believe they will would good together ill explain it if we ever get the chance to run it...but the principle is the monks have to work together to heal and protect, We Shall Return" boost rezzing power Renew Life doubles as a heal and a rez...the monks focus on healing and removing hexes where needed, the necro on the other hand takes care of conditions by piling conditons on itself then sending to the other team for a nicely packed condition buddle the eles are of a different breed, i thought of this build while i was using it in RA the Echo Shocker and the Echo Smasher, what they do is they echo their elite then they place it at keypoints on the battle field, the EchoShocker causing trouble to spell casters and the EchoSmasher to melee other then that they echo their protectile weapon for a barrage of damage and support and as u can see they each have 2 snares t hey can use to help the team...the ranger spreads conditons with his elite and theres a crippling warrior and a hammer warrior needless to say what they do
