Am I out of line?

So tonight I was asked to leave a channel in Vent, by an AoL member because I was not in the group... Though I understand "in general" why you don't want ppl not in the channel, I dont talk when I am not in the group. Just wanted to sit in and listen. I know the person doesnt know me well cause if he did he would have known I would keep quiet. But I am not sure how I feel about and AoL member asking an AoL officer to leave. Not that I take the title of officer to mean I am any better then anyone else cause I don't. Anyhow just kinda bummed me out cause I have been out of town and wanted to hang out with friends. So... just wondering if I am out of line to be bugged by it.

But seriously ... I would have said KISS MY ASS.... and taken Offence to it .. and I know ur not as blunt as me .. But SERIOUSLY ... I would! ...

I would like to know who it was .. wracking my head trying to figure it out ..because as of late .. We have had SO many rude ass people in vent ..
KOLD members .. and a few new RAiD as well .. But I have not ran across any AOL ones yet .. and thats prolly Because Im in vent alot these days ..
But I would have said something about it with out doubt.

Well i know the person that Amer is mentioning and IMO hes not
as asshole, hes a very nice guy

If he organized the event and he thought it best that it was Urgoz
only people in the channel then let him have the space he wants or w/e

Admittedly if the same thing was said to me i would have been offended too
But i think we as officers should follow policies we create so


Should we allow anyone to be in any channel?
Allow only people participating into vent channels with "objective" titles?
Or should officers be an exception?

Mighty if someone is in channel while Im doing something but they are not saying a word .. You think Im going to go out of my way to say HEY .. ur not in this group get out of the channeL??
Of course not .. And reguardless of the TAG beside our name .. I think I know Who it is now .. And that Person .. Does the same thing Amer did with floating into a channel only he can care less what ur doing he talks.
So if we are going to INFORCE a rule Then INFORCE it ALL the time Not just while it is Conv for someone.

People, this not anything that MOST of us here have not done ourselves. It was just a case of bad timing, for the most part. Amer IS a good friend and valued member of this guild. He is respected and generally well-liked. And he has a good head on this shoulders. If it were not for the fact that he just came back from an absence, I doubt it would have been as big a deal.

I do agree that if there is someone in the channel who is not in the group and they only talk rarely or when spoken to, then they SHOULD be allowed to stay, as they are not disruptive to whatever the group is doing. I have seen people (Darian, for one) who believe differently. They do ask that anyone not in the group leave the channel. I don't agree with the choice, but it is there right to make it.

I agree with that .. however when I ask someone to leave it is because they are talking over the people doing the run.
And Ark has a habbit of popping through channels his self and talking when others are in a run.
And I know you and Mighty would not know alot about it beings Yall are never in vent.. but it happens alot .. So in the very least .. if he would like to enforce the rule of that it would also apply to him.
And it just needs to be Said. Im done with this topic Because it dont make sense to go on when ur talking with people who dont see what goes on first hand.

The person and I had a chat and he apologized so its all good now.

And you know One more thing you cant pick and choose different people you want to leave the channel .. Because Ark said his self he didnt know Amer and he did not mean to offended him but had it been ME BANE KI KI he would have not thought for a second to ask us to leave Or Akroma for that matter.
Point is .. Rules need to be Inforced REGUARDLESS of who you are.
