Recruiting
I'll try to think of some recruitment messages (since I over-think this kind of thing all the time).
If you're an officer, put in some recruitment messages in map chat. Don't feel intimidated when responding to people that ask about the guild. You can always resort to: "Well, I'll invite you and see how it works out."
I think we need to recruit a lot more like this.
Post recruitment message ideas in replies?

Re: Recruiting
I agree with the sign up, if we have a potential member then we can tell them to sign up on the forums and we'll send an invite after they make a post on the forums under "Want To Join".
They can tell us stuff in that post too... I mean... Maddy posted there and we all started talking, I think that made the guild friendlier for her too.
Maybe Neoteo can set up a message for anyone posting in the "Want To Join" section whenever they start a New Topic where it says something along the lines of "Tell us about yourself, what you like most in the game, what other games you like, etc."

Re: Recruiting
sounds good , i like it
about the rep thing ... our idea was to fill the guild to the limit witch is 500 and then start cleaning people that never rep or never log in ..
both are hard to trace but i think once the guild is full and we need space to let new people in , we will find those that deserve to be booted ...
at this moment , imo it doesn't make sense to kick anyone for what ever reason .. besides being a jerk

Re: Recruiting
my point of kicking non repping ones is jsut that.. as if we want ppls to be repping us... they see osme older mmbers who rep us maybe oncee a month at maximum it might cause newcomers think we dont care if we are repped at all"
so letitng it slide noreppers might cayuse it to be more easy for new ppls to just nto rep much

Well the thing is that some non reppers are alliance members, so we can't just kick willy nilly

Re: Recruiting
So, Yuri: are you recruiting in map chat or just playing with people in... I don't even know... and asking to invite them? Like I said, I do love your recent recruits!
FYI: Whatever Yuri is doing, it's right.

Re: Recruiting
Hey thanks Finn
What I do is I actually stalk events area ^^... So whenever waiting for Teq to spawn for example, I look for guildless players and just whisp them,, trying to see if they're looking for a guild or not.
Then it's case by case... Got some people who were looking but couldn't speak english well enough, some others were waiting to hit 80 before joining one, some others were just happy playing solo... Some players don't even answer... And you got those who said yes right away 'cuz I'm such a swell guy
So yeah, nothing in particular, I just approach people and try to start the conversation... For all of them so far with the exception of Venora who asked in map chat if any guild was recruiting... So I just pounced like a tiger

Re: Recruiting
When I spam map chat I usually use something like:
Army of Lightness [AoL] is recruiting new members. We are a social guild that does a little bit of everything (PvX). We are a laid back group of mature, open-minded folks looking for new friends. Mumble is available for voice chat. Whisper me for invite.

Re: Recruiting
Back on recruiting...
It seems my technique does not yield as many members as before... Actually, I get less and less answers to my whispers and the occasional few who do are just not interested to join (sometimes are from another server...).
Anyway, despite the few recuiting we all have done recently, I feel the guild is super quiet... At least when I'm on. It's better when you guys come online and there's some chatting going on, but when I am, basically only Flynx and Desic are participating to gchat...
What are your thoughts on this? I know it's not directly linked to recruiting but worth discussing... I wonder if there's any reason behind... Like spring break or exams or something else...?

Re: Recruiting
Yeah I'm not talking about "old" members... I know usually if there's Zero, Diablo, Dye, Racthe, Beau, Wine, Finn or anyone else on they'll be causing a fair amount of mischief
It's just when all you guys are offline, well, it gets rather quiet despite the new members... So I just wanted to know if it was "kind of" the same when I was offline or if everyone was just waiting for me to logoff to start spreading some rumors regarding my personal life ^^

Re: Recruiting
Yuri is doing an awesome job recruiting lately! Thank you Yuri! He's making the rest of us look bad . Monday is my last exam and I am going to start taking recruiting seriously again. Our guild is becoming too sleepy. Lets get on the ball and make AoL lively again.
It's been a few weeks since we made the Reply or Kick rank. I think its about time we start cleaning them out. Before we kick them out, I want to send each of them an e-mail telling them we are just cleaning the roster of inactives and they are welcome back if they start playing again. If each of us take a few at a time, it should not take too long.

I've been yielding better than usual positive repliers to my recruiting whisps recently... I'm happy to see gchat is getting more lively with the return of Nuts and new members such as Ozi, Ezekiel, Sylent and others... And of course the usual ones (Nytri, Fictitiousacts, etc...)

Yes, I mean in game mail. If they have been removed from Reply or Kick, we will keep them for now. That means that they have logged in at least once in the last two weeks. Maybe, they will not survive the next round.
