What officers need to address Empty What officers need to address

Post by Midway Sun Oct 25, 2015 2:54 am

As i'm writing this we're having a small chat about what happened tonight and the future of Heart of Thorns. This is gonna be kinda sporadic, so forgive this.

*NO MORE EXCUSE'S: "WELL I DIDN'T KNOW, or YOU DIDN'T TELL ME. We post information in Gmotd, Guild Forums, and Guild Facebook, we also sometimes address things at guild missions a week ahead of time. This excuse needs to drop.

*If officers/commanders are talking, everyone needs to shut up except the people leading w/e it is.

*No more hand holding. We give you the information, you know where we're gonna start at said time. Be there early.

*When we say we start at said time, we start then. No more waiting. You're late, you're late. Sorry Jack, you're SoL

*If someone has an attitude, it needs to be dealt with. If someone needs to be put in there place, we need to start taking care of it.

*If an officer is leading, they need to be backed, even if they start nipping shit in the butt. (IE speaking up and telling people to shut up)

*People who need to be talked too, 2 officers need to be present, one who talks, the other listening. Second, if possible. If the guild member is female, have a female officer talk to them, (still requires 2 officers).

We also talked about holding a Guild Meeting, we will also be holding an Officer Meeting before hand to figure out what we want to talk about. We've been discussing moving to a medium core guild between full casual to hard core. (Don't get scared, we're gonna look for a happy medium). With raids coming out, we can't hold hands anymore. People need to be ready to rock and roll.

This might be added too.

I agree with most of what your saying BUT.... some of what you said does not take into account the new users who have never played before this week with low AP and low confidence who don't want to use facebook/forums or ts we should not just cut them of as they are the future of the guild some people are also workers or at school and only get on at a certain time, I know we cant please them all but we should at least try our best to get as many as possible. we could have told people that if they cant make it then not to worry because they will get into the guild hall after we have finished and then run the mission again with them that never made it, the quest for guildhall is a repeatable event as far as I know. sorry for my long rant but I believe in sticking up for the little people Smile...I also believe it was just a case of we want to get this started now coz were fed up of waiting I know peoples patience seem to run thin when excited by new content but we really need to calm down and reflect now. as what's done is done and we now need to mend the confidence of our users and make this a happy Friendly guild to be in  for vets and newbs alike Razz.

The problem isn't the new people. The problem is the people who have been in guild for a few months. That REFUSE to use the guild forum, who REFUSE to get on TS, who REFUSE to use Facebook, and doesn't ask any questions. Then turns around points at us because we didn't inform them of what was going on. Teaching and giving tools necessary is what we can do. We CANNOT play the game for them, and the hand holding needs to stop. Waiting for 1 person for a half hour because they couldn't be bothered to but in any type of initiative this needs to stop.

We waste so much time leading people to where they need to be at the time we're suppose to be starting. Instead of leading people last minute. Tell them they need to sit out this week. Get a hold of an officer before the next guild mission and ask if we could help escorting them to said waypoints. Hell, there is a guide in these very forums on where they need to go.

I'm all for teaching the new people, and helping out. But its like trying to bring fresh recruits in the middle of a war battle without any type of training and attempting to hold there hand while we get our asses kicked.

End Rant.

Question?,all this sounds like aol is turning into a hardcore guild on some parts and i for one dont want to see that happening whether i`m here or not,on the recruiting side of things whats the point in recruiting new an old if we all just sit there and dont hold there hands from time to time as were meant to be a family and friendly guild that helps all, people also get shy and are not as confident as others so you cant force people to join ts+fb+forums yes you can asked them but as you all know thats not going to happen. i know that i`ve been asked to join facebook on many of an occassion and i`ve said no ty because in my eyes thats my private life and thats were it should stay, does that mean i cant join the guild because i dont want to join ts+fb+forums.

I Agree Totally new and old should be at the given points when ever we do anything and more needs to be mentioned in game if I had not come on forum or ts then I would not know what was going on, as for what happened I believe one person who came into the group who had not been repping for a long time kicked of coz we never run them there and blamed all officers for not caring about the guildies(Basically),I will however stand up for maxi as he was trying his best to calm people down and was the first to step up and say something he even had an idea on how to do it(I know not his job)and we all agreed good idea.then seamon stepped in and people started to listen(way to go seamon) after that we seem to get it together and enjoy it. it was great fun and ended up being well led(way to go midway) Smile but as I said before none of the guildies have missed out as the quest can be repeated so if they want the experience we can do it all again lol. the sooner we get that npl for teamspeak the better control we will have. bet lets put it in the past(not forgotten) and push forward>
