ISP switch Empty ISP switch

I'll spare you all the boring drivel and skip straight to the point. The new ISP we switched to sent us a modem/router combination instead of just a modem. This means, if we were to use what they sent us, we would have no control over our router settings and all the security we had set up would be no more. So I told them to hell with that and to send us the plain modem. Unfortunately, this means a day or two more haiatus, as they have to ship it in. >_> They said it would be here tomorrow (Thursday), but there is a chance that I will not be able to connect until Friday. Just wanted to give you all a heads-up.

Just buy you own modem and don't pay the monthly rental fee.. it will pay for itself in no time. And you can set security settings on modem routers and wireless modem routers. If you know how.

I know that, Beau. The key phrase though: If you know how

My family is not techno-saavy in the least. >_>
