Peregrin's Hide'n'Seek
Peregrin's Hide'n'Seek
I've played H'n'S in every guild I've been in on most of the online games I play so I thought I'd do my first H'n'S since joining the alliance.
On the date stated below I will log in with my main, The White Peregrin, and announce in alliance chat that "Peregrin's Hide'n'Seek" is about to begin.
I have 16 locations already chosen for hiding places and will give 3 clues for each location while I'm there. Some of the clues are straight forward while others are cryptic and some will test your knowledge of GW.
The locations are throughout ALL of GW.
Rules -
# The 1st alliance member to initiate trade with me in the location I'm hiding will get a prize before I move onto the next location.
# Each member is asked if they could please restrict themselves to winning once in order to allow other members the opportunity of winning a prize.
# Each clue will be repeated once before the next clue is given, so please pay attention.
Date - Thursday 2nd April
Time - No specific time so keep an eye out!
District - Europe - English 1 (should Eng 1 be full then it will always be Europe - English #
Prizes -
# Alcohol
# Summoning Stones
# Consumables
# Cash
(All prizes will be handed out randomly so please don't ask for a specific one)

Re: Peregrin's Hide'n'Seek
Thanks guys, I just love doing stuff like this so I'm hoping to being able to do a few more H'n'S in the future along with a few other games I have in mind.
One thing I thought of tonight while at work was mainly concerning time differences ... as such I have decided I will do half of the H'n'S during the day and the other half around 5hrs later or so... I'm hoping this will allow more members from diff timezones to be able to participate.
So the first appearance will contain 8 locations and when I return later I will do the other 8.
Now here is a brief list concerning some of the prizes:-
# 2 x 10k cash
# over 200 various alcohol (split into several prizes)
# 3 x EotN summoning stones
# 2 x perfect salvage kit
# 2 x EotN consumable set
NOTE
EotN consumable set contains 1 of each of the following (the below are links to the descriptions of each item incase you are not familiar with them);
Honeycomb
Powerstone of Courage
Armor of Salvation
Star of Transference
Scroll of Resurrection
Grail of Might
Please remember that I may not always be in plain sight ... don't want to make it too easy now do we

Re: Peregrin's Hide'n'Seek
I live in the UK so thats GMT/UTC .... so if I were to say when abouts the first appearance would be in my own time it would be in the afternoon and the second appearance would be in the evening, that should allow more members from a wider range of timezones to be able to participate.
I'm not at work on Thursday thats why I chose it.
Top post was made in the office at work and the second just before going to bed lastnight and I had a feeling something had beem missed off them

Re: Peregrin's Hide'n'Seek
The first round of 8 locations was held Thurs, around 3pm GMT.
Sadly there were fewer people online at this time than usual but the event went ahead nonetheless and I was found at all 8 locations.
A big thank you to all those who participated!
I have been unable to get back online this evening to continue round 2 of the event due to being called into work unexpectedly. As such I will now hold round 2 on Saturday 4th April, this is to allow the chance of having more members online at the time. I do apologize.
Congratz goes to the following for winning prizes in round 1 - (note - due to the lack of members being online today I allowed those who partook to be able to win more than once).
Palas Sousa [AoL]
Blonde Obliteration [DHF]
Passifis the Vile [RAiD]

Re: Peregrin's Hide'n'Seek
Really sorry about the non-appearance on Saturday for round 2 but I was called back into work until they could get another chef to come in and cover while I take a weeks holiday (which was supposed to start last Thursday - the 2nd chef had a family emergency so I was called back in).
As of tomorrow (Monday) I will be restarting my weeks holiday so will hold round 2 of the H'n'S over the next couple of days.

Yeah, I agree with Monkin, the clues were pretty easy for some of the locations. At least in the 1st round, wasn't around for the second round so can't say either way about that one.

Re: Peregrin's Hide'n'Seek
Glad you guys enjoyed the H'n'S
The main reason why the clues aren't all more difficult is to give everyone the chance of finding me. What some may find an easy clue others may find a difficult clue, hence the 3 clues per location as the 3rd clue will always be the easiest.
I'll try and make the 1st and 2nd clues more diffilcult for the next H'n'S but will keep the 3rd clues easy.
During the 2nd round it was always the same 3 or 4 members (who had all previously won a prize) that would find me first and entertain me by dancing around me while we waited for a winner to arrive (have to say the warrior dance is the funniest as it reminds of how my dad dances lol).
I think the best location that I used to hide was the [BVOP] GH ... despite the blatant clue in the 2nd clues text.
Part of the problem is that there are not that many locations ingame to hold H'nS too often so after the next one I will start looking at other possible games I can hold .... maybe on a fortnightly basis if not monthly (don't want to be spoiling you all now )
At the moment I am working on prizes for the next H'n'S while ingame but they will include the following;
Kerrsh's Staff
1x Rune of Superior Vigor
1x lockpick Set (5 lockpicks)
2x 10k cash
and the other prizes I will announce when i post teh date/time of the event.
Concerning prizes;
I just want to make it clear that when I prepare the event I randomly choose a location and order them 1-8 ... then randomly choose a prize and match them up according to how I draw them (1st=1 .. 8th=8 ). So technically when the event starts each location already has a prize alotted to it.
