Meaning no offence to monks and paragons (cuz I love them too), Dervs kick ass on every level, be it tanking, damage dealing, pressuring or spiking, running or even healing (in some cases). Dervs can do it all!

u need good healers to cover ur ass and thats monks of course.
btw healers/protectors have the hardest job in the game, so monks kick ass. and i consider every char thats not monk a second class healer yeah i said it.

I understand Dervish is a great proffesion but there are some necro skills that just swamp melee classes as well as anti healing/enchants. lol!

I LOVE my ele :-) I guess all professions have their use, but I just find the ele, especially the fire ele, can certainly cause a lot of destruction. As I play pve mostly, this rulez :-)

I think the mes skill set is one of the best in the game.

****I dont think I read the poll correctly. In my eyes the best profession is the one you enjoy playing the most not the one that is necessarily the most immune, deadly, or bad as* in general.

If it is PvE, I would have to say ritualists would be the better of the classes manly for their spirits and high damage skills. On the PvP side, I would have to say warriors dominate PvP.

I would go for ranger Very Happy

nothing better then annoy the average melee with staying alive or even killing him and to interrupt the heck out of casters (that is when I'm good enough ^^). And how often does a ranger not sweep up a lost team with res Very Happy

I was thinking something along the line of what Spice N Dice was getting at. Regardless that other primary professions can handle each thing far better than what a Dervish can, but the point is that they can do just about anything. Which is why the Dervish is my favorite profession.

Dervishes are jack of all king nothing... but their damn sexy while doing so... i don't mind, but i dont really want them on my PVE team (pvp RA their incredible tho)

I've have to say the Ritualist.
a few reasons why I like this class is because I've always made great builds using other Secondary proffesions. Such was warrior with using Axe,Hammer,Swords. Rangers of course with bow not just Splinter. Assassins. Paragons. I've made a great Spirit Spammer Build when the skills where first nerfed to make them 10x better then what they where.

I love Warrior Prof, i had a caster main on L2 and always regretted not going melee (to lazy to start again Very Happy

). Its dmg output was pretty epic though Razz

Monk gotta be the best.. they pwn everything from the old days and 2 now they still pwn.. healing or prot doesn't matter they are best at doing that.. 55/600/ w\e they pwned everything in this game.. tell me a place 2 go and monk will be able 2 do it.. even done JQ 7monks 1 nec we were pwnage..
HA u dont see a rit healer or ele.. btw perma gets nerfed by new year 1 more reason 2 vote monk..

w00t we monk wont be beet by ranger. shame boyt dev and sin but picute runnning sin withou t monk...u will not get dmge with shadow form but wont dony any dmge without monk.....come on without us u would not make it true the end of any campaign.....even with healing derv, rit, sin or whatever.

Well you can beat every area in pve on HM with 8 dervishes but I guess no1 does that. Anyways I consider all professions equal so not casting a vote on this.

I always laugh at the monks in JQ. Drop a Distracting Shot on them while they're trying to get a RoJ or a Word of Healing off and laugh at them. I will admit that monks have other classes beat with their protection prayers, but every other class beats them at damage, and Ritualists are much better healers. Thats not to say they aren't good, but they're hyped WAY too much.

As for my favorite class? I've got to stick with the ranger I've had for four years. The R/D build I'm running right now just takes apart everything I run into.

I still stand by my decision for my first favorite to be assassin. (and HAHA SF wasn't nerfed by New Year's!)
BUT...
Rangers will always have a special place in my heart. <3

Every class has its charm in one way or another. However, I like the monk for the simple reason that they can do everything. They can fight, they can heal, they can protect as party support. They are the most versatile class, in my opinion.

On the other hand, I love my Ritualist now that they improved casting time and buffed spells. So it may be toss up between the two as to which I like most.

I also love playing a ranger. I dig being a beastmaster most, but I also enjoy trapping in ZE, or doing damage with long range bows. Just a fun class to play. But monk still beats them all, I think.

Though I think all professions have great potential when put in the right hands, for my purposes I will go with Monk.

My vote isn't based necessarily on how effective the class is in the game. However, being a more flexible player who likes to do things like missions in normal mode, Monk offers unparalleled accessibility and flexibility for me. More Monks are needed "to go" than any other profession and for things like Zaishen missions, being a monk means never having to wait to get into a group.

Of course, once in a while I do a bit of PvP and then I go back to interrupt/condition spam ranger.

Idk though. My vote keeps changing. It used to be sin because I was new to it and learning so much. Then it was ranger simply because, well, I love mine. She's one of my mains. Now... it's really getting to be my monk because I'm on her all the time. I help people with heals in Factions, I'm slowly working my way through NightFall on her... y'know, I'm just... I don't think I can have an opinion that's going to stay on one choice. :/
So right now I'm voting again, for monk.
Who knows? Next week it might be ele or derv. :/

Ritualists.

Even though I'm a Warrior main, I cannot say that warriors are the best.
Ritualists can "smite", can spirit spam with armor ignoring damage and they can be decent healers. They can farm solo anywhere.

Mesmers for are strongest overall for pvp, even though direct damage is not their strong point. (I think of them as efficiency-inversion class... cutting down the opposition's output while maximizing the efficacy of its team)

For pve, i gotta go with fun factor... A little indifferent to this one since that's more dependent on mood. I'll tell you what I won't play in pve: sins (what's the point other than shadow form), and monks (if this were a reality series, monks are the first to get "thrown under the bus"; used to monk in pve until pugs killed the fun).
