the new Canthan content will continue moving the game story forward, and it will also set in motion events whose repercussions will be felt in GW2 – you’ll bear witness to history in the making!

AND there will be a new launching point "Embark Beach" plus the addition of being able to add 7 heros to party per this article in a soon happening update
