Our server pick for our alliance shifting to Guild Wars 2

Guildwars 2 world picking will be relatively easy, but for convenience's sake:

I want people to be aware that we should pick one world that we will all be in.

Of course we don't know the names now, but when the time comes I hope that we as an alliance will pick one that is relatively active (all of them will be of course...): so we don't have to coordinate helplessly if the case comes that: "At account creation, you pick a server" I would like us all to meet up with eachother as soon as possible

Any suggestions on determining which one we should pick? (The one that starts with the letter "C"? lol...)

I think we should look for a server that has some enthusiastic and dedicated organizations on it, rather than a bunch of randoms. If guru ends up focused on a particular server, that might be one good choice. I've been doing our recruiting strictly through them for years. :p

So do you think that the Guru will really establish a server (most guru people on that server)?

There has already been discussion about it on Guru2. I don't think it can go very far until Anet talks more about how servers work. Their player caps, switching rules ect will need to be public before any real headway can be made.

I'm wondering about the server you have to pick at account creation though

But I hope the server you pick at account creation isn't a default in any way, and just the server you will be on when you log in, unless you just change it however that will be done.

They have said that server switching "will be easy" but we have no more info than that.

That could mean a lot of things depending on what your opinion of easy is; from being free and instant to taking weeks and costing real money.

I think it is also unlikely that it will be unlimited and instant(but we can hope). I have a feeling they will release info on how servers work soonish though. Around the time they release WvWvW info.

I'm a little...scratch that...VERY scared of them saying they will probably have to limit servers, I'm not ready for it to be so different from Guild Wars 1!

People may want to make a character to look around the game with for the first few days and wait to see which servers really take off before going full speed on leveling a main

eh but in a way... if we go to a not so many ppl server...we can rule that server... make anet rename it to army of lightness land LOL

I believe someone put info out there that you can switch servers at will and the only penalty is a cool down on doing WvWvW stuff.
