Alliance Charr Warband Name Nominations

A few of us have been having a discussion about having an Alliance Charr Warband in Random. I was hoping to see more input from Alliance members on this issue so I am starting a new thread here.

Would you be interested in using an Alliance Char Warband name when naming your GW2 Charr characters? And, do you have any thoughts on possible Warband names?

Char Warband names are typically one or two syllable words like Cinder, Dragon, Bright, Bold, Brazen.... In naming your Charr your first name can be anything, but your surname will be the Warband attached to a modifier. The modifier is completely up to you as well, so you will still have a lot of flexibility in naming your character. (Middle name is OK too.)

If Bold is our Warband, your name is: Firstname Boldwhatever, or (fill in the blank) _____________ Bold______
Examples: Blazefiend Boldblade, Zero Boldfang, Aura Boldbloom, Alexis Bolddragon, Christas Boldclaw

Please, say here if you would be willing to use an Alliance Warband Name. Also, if you have a nomination for a Warband name make it here as well. Also, feel free to comment.

I will follow this post with my official nomination, and edit this post with a list of nominations as they come in. This was Zero's idea, and I think it is an awesome idea!!! Exclamation

I would like all nominations in by July 28th. Then, I will create a poll thread where we can vote.

Charr Warband name nomination: Bold

Examples of Surnames using the Bold Warband name:
Boldblade, Bolddagger, Boldlight, Boldaura, Boldbludgeon, Boldarrow, Boldbow, Boldshield, Boldskin, Boldbones, Boldbomber, Boldflame, Boldblood, Boldbarrier, Boldfang, Boldshot, Boldfur, Boldfire, Boldstaff, Boldsoul, Boldreflection, Boldlife, Boldrage, Boldscream, Boldeffect, Boldfur. My first Charr avatar will most likely be called Blazefiend Boldbeau.

My reason for liking Bold is that it is a really cool word and it starts with a B. Here are some fun Bold quotes:

What about Mane ?

It goes along with the Char theme and is pretty easy to fit into just about anything. The only problem is is that it may be slightly cliche.

Consider the following...

Cindermane
Dragonmane
Brazenmane
Brightmane
Boldmane
Spidermane
Ghostmane
Thundermane
Domane
Octmane
Complmane
Glittermane
Guccimane

I also like "Maul" "Quill" and "Foot"... I guess I'm talking more along the lines of the warband family name because I feel like the Adjective is where all the creativity lies. Just a thought!

Actually, the Warband name comes first, but you could surely use mane attached to any of those suggestions. It would make a cool name. Good to see you joining this discussion, Mighty! I could toss out on your behalf the Warband name "Mighty." Blazefiend Mightybarrier... now, that has a nice ring.

I would be careful with mane as a modifier. Some of those sound like off brand hair care products or My Little Ponys. LOL, just kidding Razz

I count nine people who have participated in this discussion, but only a few have committed to using our choice. I said in my opening in this post that I was leaving nominations open till 07/28. Then we would have a vote. Wish we had more Charr brothers & sisters.

Our little group has tossed out some new ideas, but no discussion on if we wish to add them to the nominations (multiple nominations). If it is just our small group, I don't want everybody else voting on our choice either. We should have a private vote. You should only get a vote if you are going to commit to using the Warband name.

Anyone else following this thread, that is interested, but hasn't commented, let us know that you are there, please Very Happy

if this just stays as a small group ill use my gw1 name be make my charr really odd fellow and have a nother charr using the warband name.. or ill use warband for my main and zero mutt for a nother character still deciding going to see how many will want to do this

To Neoteo: I do like "Light!" I mentioned that in the prior thread.

I'm going to make a few avatars for the beta. I'll model Charr warband style names on all of them no matter race.

If I weren't dedicated to AoL, and giving AoL all of my influence, I would consider creating a Legion of Lighntess for only Charr avatars. Then we could try to build Warbands inside the Legion.

This will be my last campaigning effort for Bold. It occurred to me when I tried to make Blazefiend Boldbludgeon that the length of the Warband name will be important by influencing the freedom in creating the rest of the name. Even with a short Warband name like Bold , I didn't have enough letters for my dream name.

The longer the name we choose the more we limit our other options. Bold is the shortest nomination so far! I also enjoyed using Bold during BW3.

Only three days left for nominations. Then we will decide if we wish to vote amongst ourselves or how to proceed.

Ok, it is well past the cutoff date for nominations! Where are we going with this? How many of you are still interested in belonging to a Warband and sharing part of our name? I am still committed to the idea.

With only like ten participants in this thread I think we should vote among ourselves and not do an open poll. I don't want to leave our name in the hands of people not committed.
