questions about Vent Empty questions about Vent

Post by vickster Fri Nov 30, 2012 7:27 pm

I was told (by GW1 group) that our vent will be cancelled within a month or something like that.... so... with that being said... will we be getting a new voice chat???

I'm in a conflicting place being part of ToA and AoL... not fun.. so I have no "place" to be as far as vent is concerned because they are in another vent section... UGH..

so what's the deal??? Not happy about all our AoL members leaving/breaking up... don't know where to be...

I have no clue what TOA is planning to do. It is a sad situation that they felt the need to withdraw from the guild for "personal space" or whatever. There would have been plenty of space for all by kicking inactives and leaving a message here for those who wish to return. How do you overcome an abandonment complex? Well, lets further isolate ourselves... LOL. Makes perfect sense to me, but that's besides the salient point.

Clem & I have already talked a little about this. We would like to have an officers meeting soon. There are lots of options out there. I would be willing to pool our resources to get a new Vent lease. Others that I have liked are Mumble and that free one we experimented with, GSC. If TOA wishes to be a part of the new voice chat, I am open to keeping them close. However, I've gotten the impression from other GW2 players who've tried to interact with them and my own experience that they don't want anything to do with us.

I feel that voice chat is essential especially for active parties. I also hope that voice chat will become a social space again at some point.

If you guys want, you can use our mumble. We are mostly on Yak's Bend but we can make separate channels for Blackgate. I miss you guys. Q__Q

I've never tried mumble. However my preference if we were to do our own thing is TS as I wholly despise vent. I want to say TS can be ran on a computer if anyone has a fast connection with a spare computer.

I think using lucci's mumble would be a great idea. Not for an easy fix but for a community. Would have a mini cross server alliance. It's possible to run dungeons and such cross server. We just wouldn't be able to do jumping puzzles and such together. Could be a start of something greater for when they implement guesting if they ever do.

I really like the idea of joining back up with Liar! I miss y'all too Very Happy It would be good to have alliance connections again. I wish we would have tried harder to stay connected from the begining. Lets get BOOM back too.
