Class Contest!

So here's the deal. I want to make an asuran, but I can't decide if I want a guardian, or a ranger.

What I'm looking for is what class do you think I should play, and why? (don't just say its OP. Give me a legit reason as to what made you suggest this class.)

I will then make my character based on the reason, and whoever convinced me to make that class will get a prize! (For me to know and you to find out )

Edit: I forgot a deadline. While I'm not actually sure WHEN I'd like to end it, it would probably be this week sometime. When I have it finalized, I'll let you folks know

Edit 2: I have decided that, seeings how it seems that everyone has given input, the deadline will be the server rest on Tuesday July 16. (That's 5pm server time. Adjust your clocks accordingly )

I shall then review the input I have, and make a decision. If It's still tied, I'll probably cry. lol.

I haven't played any of the classes yet but I think I'd probably go for ranger for the following reasons:

1. Ranger wears medium armors and leather is dead cheap in this game.
2. Ranger uses bow and wood is dead cheap in this game.
3. I play warrior and found that many fights have to be fought from ranged distance... So being a ranger would be better in those cases.
4. Ranged weapons are nice in WvW too.
5. Just imagine as an asuran being able to tame a pet that's 30 times bigger than you! Awesome and super good for self esteem too
6. If you get the lengendary shortbow you'll be able to shoot unicorns who shoot rainbows out their asses!

Guardian. That way you can keep me alive in guild bounties.

Is that last one a joke? Please tell me it isn't.

Lol hey selfish of me I know, but it is an intriguing class to play. Ranger is good but not as up close killing things (or rezzing me.... Frequently)

Rangers are easy and imo the traits aren't that fun.

I'm going to vote Guardian on this one.

I've been playing GW2 for three weeks now, but before I started I wanted to play a ranger. All the hate and nerfs aside most of the rangers I see don't use bows... and if they do it's always summoned by an elemental.

As an Asuran you might be able to tame giant pets, but until ANET allows you to ride them as an Asuran (given your size) i'd go with a guardian. (have you seen them carry a giant sword or hammer and run around... with heavy armor on top of that)

For someone whos wanted to play a ranger in an mmo for a couple years... i'd skip it an put your effort into something you can take just about anywhere.

My number one reason would be this. Why does a class that should be based on DPS (with a bow of some sort) start the game with an axe? You should get a bow of some sort and not an axe. Rangers feel like a hunting class, last time i saw any sort of hunting no one was using an axe.

This was a really hard choice because all the reasons eventually did add up. I think, at the very base, I think I have to go with Zero. Expect a reward!
