Re: Sunday morning guild missions
I don't mind doing it, If I can be shown what to do, I work 3rd shift and up during that time anyways. I would appreciate someone who knows them well enough to help and guide me until I'm comfortable enough to do it by myself.
I understand that Dulfy will also be a great help, but a guide is only second best to an actual person who knows whats going on.

Re: Sunday morning guild missions
I am going to suggest Bhukk as Lord again for this purpose. The first time we were wanting Second Missions. It was between Bhukk and Andrea. I was just waiting to see who would take the initiative. Andrea jumped in with both feet, but we've seen how that turned out. I believe Bhukk will be much more stable and reliable.
Bhukk, if the others agree to you being Lord, we will expect you to participate in officers discussions more. You have been a great adviser to me in private conversations, but that needs to be brought to all officers. I think your play time and interaction with the guild is great. You have also been a long time faithful and trusted member.

Re: Sunday morning guild missions
I love bhukk but I think vizier rank should be modified to be knight with gm permissions instead. We give too many promotions that aren't deserved already, only to leave us underwhelmed with performance and participation.
Also, the nepotism has to go. There is a weird favoritism for tenure, while others who work harder go ignored.
No offense bh. I still love you to bits, but I imagine you can agree you don't put in as much as some others around here.
Typing on my phone. Sorry for any weird autocorrects.

Re: Sunday morning guild missions
Actually, i would be honored to accept a lord position, I may have other things going on outside of the game occasionally, but its not like i don't know Most of this game inside and out and can be in game most of the time helping/assisting.
Also...
...I do not understand where you are coming from Kitty, Beau is not Favoring me. if this were in Any way true, i would have been Lord/Guild Leader long ago when Beau gave it to Ratche the first time. I was not even considered for such things by Beau. as i voted for Ratche myself to be Guild Leader. and i voted for the other Lords to be who they are too.
and on that note, Some are even surprised i am not already and not because of Nepotism.
Like i said, i would be Honored yes. and i would work hard to be a good one. But i am not going to feel bad if not. I enjoy this game/guild and the people i play with regardless of what others expect of me.

Re: Sunday morning guild missions
Sorry bh, no offense is intended. The nepotism/favoritism thing was a general comment, not a directed one.
I am not aware of the situation when ratche was made leader. I only have current and recent participation to go on, and I am basing my opinion on who is involved on the officer discussions on a regular basis, and has proven themselves to be active participants.
I adore you to bits, I really do. I just have seen others participate far more, and get passed over. And I am a firm believer in rewarding hard work and good performance.
*pees on you*

Is there a reason why knights in general don't have access to the GMs things? Was that part of the issue a million years ago with people queuing weird shit?

Yeah, good point. Do we have a reason why we don't let knights start missions? It's cool if there is a reason. Beez's question made me wonder too.

Re: Sunday morning guild missions
Yes, I have avoided promoting Bhukk like the plague until now just because of the nepotism idea. Since my toss up between Andrea and Bhukk before, I have seen him working harder for the guild in some ways. And, in other ways, he has stopped because he feels overlooked and unappreciated. Bhukk, like Flynx, often prefers to talk to me in Teamspeak instead of typing in the officer forum so some of his contribution often goes unnoticed.
However, while we do want our officer to be proactive in someways, I've been becoming concerned that we are moving away from our big happy family atmosphere. I've had two veteran officers tell me that the family atmosphere is being torn down and they are not sure they like it. I do not like it either.
In eight years, I never remember our Guild being this dramatic. I admit my roll in some of the recent drama, but I think we all need to take it down a notch or two. Yes, we don't always get things done in a timely manner. Yes, we are still talking about some of the same things we talked about two years ago. Many of the officers of two years ago are gone and are no longer doing the things they took charge of. So we need to delegate again. I think that is one of the issues. We talk and argue about these ideas but nobody really takes ownership of them. Nobody follows through. I see Bhukk saying that he wants to take ownership of Sunday Guild Missions, now, where he was not committed to the idea back when I promoted Andrea. That speaks volumes to me.

Re: Sunday morning guild missions
The problem with Mission Control stems from an issue that ANET has not resolved. We do not want random people able to activate missions at the gate. Unfortunately, once a Lord activates a the Mission any member seems to be able to actually do the on the ground activation.

Re: Sunday morning guild missions
I spoke with Kitty a while back about who I should promote. She said that I should look at the people who I trust most and who I go to for advice the most. The Lords are my advisers more than anything else. The short list there is Bhukk, Yuri, and Killander. I chose Bhukk to be my next adviser, unless there is a majority objection.

Re: Sunday morning guild missions
Actually I've recommended differently since then. Strange that you would remember the older advice, that does not take into account recent issues. The lords should be people who are not afraid to challenge you when you are not being an effective leader. Not just your buddies who you trust.
Also I plan to respond to your other post but that reply is going to be longer than I want to type on my phone.

Re: Sunday morning guild missions
I do agree with Kitty that we give the old guard too much regard, and that's part of our problem. This doesn't really apply to Bhukk, I think he would be fine, just in general. The look of it though is kinda important. And to other members it looks like a member of the old school getting preferential treatment again. Officers should be able to start guild missions though.

Since there are no more objections to Bhukk being my next Lord, and the majority of respondents have been supportive, I would like to promote him at tonight's Guild Missions.
