Post by spectrik Sun Apr 05, 2015 12:19 am

So I recently saw an upward trend in new players in the guild, and to you I say welcome! Whether you're a seasoned veteran or just got the game and want to learn how to be amazing Spec is here to help you through the steps of the learning this game. I will be focused on teaching you every single dungeon as a reference if you ever decide to go for Dungeon Master.

Q. So first off what is a dungeon?
A. A dungeon is an instance in the game that has a set objective (Killing a boss).

Q. How many Dungeons are there?
A. There are 9 dungeons with 25 paths total!

Q. Dungeons don't pay enough gold to be worth running.
A. Well 1.5g isn't much yes, but if you get 1.5g 12 times a day 7 days a week, 365 days a year. it adds up.

Q. Pugs suck.
A. Yes some pugs are terrible, but if you carry hard enough then maybe some of your godliness will rub off on them.

Dungeoneers' Grammar
Stack -All Party Members group on said spot
Pull - Luring "X" mob/boss to "Y"
Burn - Killing Something Really Fast
MightStack - Grouping up on one spot so you can enter a fight with 25 Might Stacks

How this works - I will be posting how to do a dungeon path here, hope I help you Very Happy

Ascalonian Catacombs Path 1 -

Part 1 -  Once you pick your path there will be a burrow, skip it. Go onto the rock by the corner where the fence meets the wall and snipe off the Gargoyle Heads. Afterwards drop down and the Queen Spider will spawn. Kill her baby spiders and then burn her down. After spiders there will be a hallway with 4 skelks and a Champ Skelk, pull them with ranged and stack around the corner where the right door meets the wall. The Champ can knock up but that's about it

Part 2 - After the Skelks you will enter the Kholer Fight. You will stack in the corner of the first pillar and pull him in. Might stack and burn him down. He has a dagger storm that you want to avoid but otherwise is an easy fight. You will then run down a hallway with fire, you can run on top of the head if you climb on them if you really want to avoid them.

Part 3 - This is the hardest part of this path. If you don't have an elementalist it'l be even harder. With elementalists they will drop icebows and you will do this by killing the burrows with Icebow #4 easy. Without Icebows you just have to might stack at the start and manually clear each burrow, towards the end Hodgins will drop fairly low but avoid him and focus DMG on burrows. Then after that you just walk up spiral staircase, open the coffin, and way point back.

Part 4 - You will then run to the next part, after you run up the slope stick to the left side to not trigger the Elite Oozes. Afterwards 1-2 people will run into the next room while the rest stay by Hodgins. The people that run in will preferably have Stability / Stealth to be able to pickup the scepter pieces. After the 5 scepter pieces have been picked up the person who ran it will go to the back of the room and the people that stayed will talk to Hodgins. The runners will then way point back.

Part 5 -  You will then NOT trigger the oozes this time by hugging the right side and jump onto the small space in the broken wall. Then you will stealth up / stability up & swiftness up, and run to Boss skipping all mobs. At the end you will go into the mini-cave at the back.

Part 6 - On this boss you will mightstack at the start and pull him to the back of the room. You will then preceed to burn him as fast as possible. He will summon little skelks and elite skelks but you will avoid them and keep burning boss.

And thats it Very Happy

Ascalonian Catacombs Path 2

Part 3 - You will then run down a hallway to the next objective where there will be a champ skelk, during the fight it will summon more baby skelks but they shouldn't be a problem. Afterwards there will be armies of baby skelks coming after you so you will want to go setup for the traps at the top to kill them all and send anybody not at the traps (heavies) to keep aggro on skelks.

Part 4 - After that you will run to the next objective where Detha will be setting up traps. All the traps are set up the same way by leaving Detha alone and letting her die initially, then mightstacking, then killing all the elites, then reviving Detha and moving onto the next trap.

Part 5 - After the traps have been setup pick a trap (I usually go west) and then rifles will spawn. Rifle #1 will make oozes spawn when Ghost Eater is targeted and will lift up said oozes. Rifle #2 will pull ooze's when they are in the air #Teamwork. You will pull 4 oozes into 1 trap and then pull the Ghost Eater into said Trap Range. Afterwards you will might stack and burn him as he becomes a really over buffed champ Skelk.

***This Path is the hardest of the 3 AC paths ***

You will then run down a hallway with fire, you can run on top of the head if you climb on them if you really want to avoid them.

Part 3 - You will then run to the next objective where there will be skelk burrows popping up. If your party has elementalists make them drop Ice bows so you can instaclear with Ice bow #4 if not you can manually clear them easy.

Part 4 - After the burrows you will be turned into ghosts where you will run past baby spiders and into a room where Warmaster Grast is. In this room there will be 4 burrows, if you have elementalists make them drop Ice bows so you can clear the burrows with Ice bow #4, if not just manually clear them. After all 4 burrows are cleared you can way point and get ready to run to boss.

Part 5 - During the run to Colossus Rumblus you will have to run to the mini-cave in the back of the room like in path 1. When you are done running Warmaster Grast will aggro some elite skelks and die, revive him after the skelks are out of aggro range.

Part 6 - You will might stack prior to the fight. During the fight Colossus Rumblus will make it rain boulders, BUT Warmaster Grast has a bubble that is impenetrable by giant rocks. Other than that you're fighting a really over buffed Skelk.

Caudecus's Manor Path 1

Part 1 - At the very start you will select your path and 1 person will go talk to Traffa while the rest head off to the basement. In the Basement the thief or mesmer (somebody with stealth) will drop a smoke field and the 4 members will blast it. Afterwards they will each run to all the bombs. This should go smoothly if you got the maximum 12 seconds of stealth on all 4 people.

Part 2 - The people in the basement will then leave through the door and enter the barn. When you enter the barn there will be a cut scene, have 1 person watch the entire cut scene while the other 4 kill Gunpowder Morgan. After Morgan is dead the wall will collapse and you will stack up for stealth.

Part 3 - After you have stacked up stealth and swiftness you will all run to Bloody Victoria and not hit any of the mobs. You will then all stack in her bedroom on the left side of the room. She will pull herself along with a couple bandits and you will kill her.

Part 4 - After Victoria you will head off to the next objective and stack on the gap in between the rock and the wall, and stack stealth with smoke fields. You will then proceed to run past everything and have thief drop shadow refuge a second before stealth expires. You will then keep running to Frost and stack up on the beam next to the rock wall where Frost is, and might stack. Then you will pull Frost and only Frost, and kill him. His Golems will die when he dies.

Caudecus's Manor Path 2 Very Happy

Part 1 - After you start the path you will go up the stairs and kill the 2 bandits, they drop a few conditions but nothing special. Afterwards you will go into a room and enter by double dodging to the boss and dropping reflects on her. Hit the button after killing her.

Part 2 - Head into the next room with the riflemen and flamethrowers and kill them, drop reflects on your way in. Afterwards head to the end of the hall and talk to the npc. Afterwards go to the top of the stairs and stack might, pull the champion up the stairs and kill him. Drop a smoke field and stack stealth.

Part 3 - Run across and drop reflects in the group to make all 3 of the bandits useless. The next room is easy for somebody with blinks (Thief / Mesmer) as you can stealth at the start and blink your way to the end. The floor is lava and you're only allowed to walk on the carpet so just blink from carpet to carpet in stealth. When you get to the end just hit the chest and jump over the railing. If you don't have somebody with blinks you can drop the pillows to walk on them.

Part 4 - Then run to the next part and stack on the edge of the building. Lower the bandits and wait for the bandits to pull their friends. Stack might and cut everybody down. (Reflects recommended) Then you will go to the edge of the next building and get a cut scene (This starts the boss) drop reflects and kill her. She spawns swords of justice, kill those fast. She also drops fields, avoid retal. fields and you'l be fine.

Part 5 - After you kill the boss you (optional) can go kill the hound but I don't like to do it as he has a fear. You then move on to kill the 4 bandits guarding the bombs. ***Important*** You will stealth up (if possible) and grab the bombs at the same time. you will then go to the red circles and drop them all at the same time (count off), if you don't the bandits will pick them up and you will have to restart this part.

Part 6 - Then keep running and drop more stealth as your previous one will run out. (optional) If Martha is at the end of her pathing you can just aggro her and pull her around the corner, if not just wait for her to be in pull range. Mightstack, drop reflects, and kill her.

Part 7 - You will then fight the most overbuffed necro of your life. He has 2 phases, normal phase (where you can kill him) and plague phase (where you run in circles hoping he aggro's on your teammates. He will open up with plague phase and you will have to just hope nobody dies. After his plague phase is over he drops fields while you kill him. DPS while in normal form, hide while in plague form, Rinse, and repeat.

Caudecus's Manor Path 3

Part 1 - After you start the path you will go to the first boss (Sureshot). ***Grab Reflects & Stability*** Stack on the edge of the house by the boss and stack might, Drop reflect #1. Kill all the bandits and then start killing Sureshot, drop reflects a second as they run out, if you run out of reflects pop stabilty (rampage as one).

Part 2 - You will then stack up on stealth and run to the rocket room(cave) ***Important*** Grab Rifle's on your way there so you can do the Rocket Room. The Rockets are immune to regular attacks so you have to "airblast" (TF2 reference) the rockets back. Kill all 10 launchers and go onto the next part.

Part 3 - After that you will go stack on the edge of the door to the next room and somebody will pull the bandits. Drop reflects and stack might, they should die easy. Stack stealth and move on.

Part 4 - Now while walking to the next part in the middle your stealth will run out, drop shadow refuge or mass invisibility. Afterwards you can either go straight to the boss or you can go under the floor into the bedroom and pull all the bandits and kill them.

Part 5 - They need to buff this guy alot. You initially go stack at the back and pull all the bandits, afterwards you will go and stack on the Centaur. He drops a swirling winds (aoe reflect) at the start of the fight, just melee him. He hits like a clerics mesmer so just stack might and autoattack him down, EZ.

P.S. - ty beau & jolly Very Happy and anybody else that silently appreciates these, hopefully I can get all the dungeons here before HoT drops so all the people can have dungeon master in guild Very Happy

Twilight Arbor Path 2 Forward

Part 1 - After you start the path you will deploy your lawnmower's (Guardian's with staffs) and "mow" down all the flowers, if you don't have guardians you can stealth past them. And run into the worm room hugging the left side and stacking in a crevasse in the wall.

Part 2 - There will be 1 worm that spawns, let the guardian mow down the flowers so you don't die (poison hurts) meanwhile you keep killing worms. as you kill one 2 will pop up, then when you kill those 2, 2 more will pop, and then 2 more after those, BUT you kill all except for the last baby one when the champion worm spawns in the middle. Stack on it, might, kill it.

Part 3 - This is where you split, chose too keep going forward, hence the name of "...Path 2 Forward." Now I like to stack on the worm after pulling the warden as it makes it go faster, go to the mound and range the warden to come to it as well. Then a champ worm will spawn and you will kill it and cleave the warden afterwards.

Part 4 - So now there will be bubbles of insta-down. You can't walk through them unless you have aegis or blink through them. BUT there are portals next to the bubbles which you can enter if you're melee so you can have some fun as well Very Happy

Part 5 - After you kill all 6 bubble archers, you will stealth up and run past everything in sight. Go to the right and past the bridge into the cave of deathflowers. Afterwards mow down past the flowers and skip the puppies. You will then stack on the inside corner of the edge of the wall on the left side and pull the guards (I like to pull all at the same time). Stack might, reflects, and cut everybody down.

Part 6 - The tree is super easy to kill, but don't rush in right away as the red orbs she uses at the start are instakill (I discovered that the hard way). If you stand inside of her butt (if trees have butts) you do double damage because cleave op. Collect your loot and head out. Very Happy

Twilight Arbor Path 2 Upper

Part 1 - After you start the path you will deploy your lawnmower's (Guardian's with staffs) and "mow" down all the flowers, if you don't have guardians you can stealth past them. And run into the worm room hugging the left side and stacking in a crevasse in the wall.

Stack on it, might, kill it.

Part 3 - You will then split, choose to go Up (Hence the name). And there will be a room full of spiders (Hope you don't have arachnophobia) Pull one group at a time and use reflects, you can pull the last 2 groups at the same time. You will then fight the God Spider. It hurts alot, it can drop you. Warriors please use shouts / banners and stack might prior, this should be easy.

Part 4 - You will then run to the next champ spider, don't forget your lawnmowers Very Happy . When you get in the room she will be green and immune but after she kills the npc she will be kill-able. Pull her into the cave and just auto attack her down, don't forget might.

Part 5 - You will then run past everything and stack by the left plant next to the mobs, pull them in, might stack, kill them no problem.

Part 6 - The tree is super easy to kill, but don't rush in right away as the red orbs she uses at the start are instakill (I discovered that the hard way). If you stand inside of her butt (if trees have butts) you do double damage because cleave op. Collect your loot and head out. Very Happy

Spec's Dungeon guide for Upcoming Dungeoneers Empty Re: Spec's Dungeon guide for Upcoming Dungeoneers

Post by spectrik Sat Apr 18, 2015 1:20 am

Alright so TA Aether is a REALLY (really) long path, and so I've been running it quite a few times with friends and for maximum success for this path you need a good team. (Same goes for all the other paths but it isn't as punishing)
***Note*** This is all my opinion of the most effective way to run the path, I'm not the best dungeon runner in the game (not even close) Now les do dis.

Twilight Arbor Aether Path

Team Composition
For this path you want a lot of damage as its mostly aetherblades with shields. So we figured the best way to do this is with the following team composition.

Warrior (Sword/Warhorn + Hammer) - Banner of Strength and 2 Shouts and Rez Banner, traited into healing shouts.

Guardian (Staff + Scepter/Focus) - Wall of Reflects and Shouts

Elementalist (Staff or Dagger/Dagger depending) - Traited into Aura-share + Arcane tree

Elementalist (Staff or Dagger/Dagger depending) - Traited into Aura-share + Arcane tree

Thief (Dagger/Pistol + Short bow) - Shadow refuge + Venom share and Thrill of the Crime + Scorpion Wire

Part 1 - So you will stack might right at the entrance and you will run in. (Prepare your popcorn, this may take a while) Hug the right side and kill all the ads, these are aetherblades and they have an invlun shield if you don't kill them fast enough. You will keep moving on and then there will be this big open room with dogs and husks at the "sorta arch" thing. Kill them, 1 ele should be d/d and the other should be staff. Don't forget to mightstack and blast water fields and you should go through easy. Move along to the worms, they will be relatively close so you can just AOE them down.

Part 2 - Alright so this is the first "big" part of the path. You will have  to guide 2 oozes to the gate at the end without having the lava ele's kill the oozes or the fire itself. We like to do a 3-2 split sending the ele and warrior to 1 side and the rest to the other side. The oozes have to arrive at the same time so don't go too fast / too slow.

Part 3- Next up you got more aetherblades, go to the rock on the right side as you leave the gate and pull them in. Avoid their static fields, mightstack, blast water easy. After the initial group there will be a storm watcher, pull him to the next rock on the right side and burn him down easy. Afterwards as soon as you step past him another group will spawn, try to pull them behind the rock where you killed the storm watcher but you should be able to just kill them straight up. Afterwards there will be more aetherblades, there's no stack spot here just cut them down.

Part 4 - Now is the first boss, Slick and Sparky. Ele's should switch to staff You wanna mightstack prior to this, sparky will burn all the plants so you can ignore them on your way in. Slick will throw down these tar pools which apply a special type of poison. You can't remove it via condiclears so your best bet is to dodge or heal through it. Now Sparky can set said tar on fire, so you'l be taking true poison + burn, AVOID THIS. Slick also throws this perfume type thing which will attract this ooze to you. now this ooze is a sponge and sponges soak things up. Also along these lines sponges will release all fluids when broken, so don't kill it. After you kill Slick you can then move onto Sparky. After you kill one partner the other becomes enraged (Attacking faster and hitting harder) Sparky will just hurt slightly more, Slick will throw down a million tar fields and you will all die. Kill Slick First. Sparky will also have this spin thing (Where are my fractals people) it's exactly like the poison spin except its fire. Reflect here, dodge, heal, then mightstack and kill him.

Part 5 - After Slick and Sparky you will fight your first Holographic Enemies. There will be a generator which you cannot hurt directly. To kill the generator you will have to pull the holographic enemies to it and kill the holographic enemies. They blow themselves up on death, they hurt each other, they REALLY hurt you. Afterward there will be a small hallway which you can clear with ease and then there will be 2 generators, do 1 generator at a time just like you did the first and you can move along. Keep moving along and there will be a room full of enemies by the bottom of the slant. Pull them all to the slant and kill them. Move along to Foreman Spur and wait at the top of the pipe.

Part 6 - Drop down and kill the watcher, afterwards pull all the minions and slay them with aoe. Mightstack and Blast Water. Foreman Spur is just like the Upgraded Molten Berserker in Fractals. He has a shock wave that pulls you closer, he has really strong small aoes. Now what's special about Spur is that his dash, if he hits you with it you're going along with him for the ride. This fight should be rather easy if you just avoid all his aoes.

Part 7 - Now is the Floor Mini-game. In this game the floor is deadly electricity (you thought I was gonna say lava didn't you   Embarassed ) To do this you have to start off by standing on one and reach all 4 without touching the electricity and getting a negative charge. (MAKE SURE THIEF IS ON THE PAD BY THE DOOR)  When you get on all 4 pads tell your thief to use scorpion wire on the hologram to explode him by the door.   This may take a few tries but afterwards it unlocks the door and you never have to do it again (Unless you're Spec)

Part 8 - Alright final boss time and after this you never have to do this horrible monster of a path. When you first enter there will be 8 generators around the room (along with holograms) blow them up just like the other generators. The floors will sometimes light up and shock you, you will gain a stack of electricity which will hurt, try to heal through it. After you break the last generator he will pull straight to you. The boss itself has 5 different abilities. He has a cone of damage in front of him that is near instakill (19,000 on the warrior). He also has a stomp that happens 3 times, it doesn't hurt but it knocks you down. He also has a dash attack that really hurts as well. He will go through 2 different phases. The first one he will try to kill you (self explanatory). In the second phase he will gain a bunch of armor and keep trying to kill you. Your goal during the armor phase is to pull one of the holographic strikers to him to take off the armor. If you fail to do this the floor will light up with permanent lightning and it will be painful to walk along it. This fight is relatively simple if you execute everything properly, don't forget to mightstack at the start, blast water, res downs and this should be a "relatively" easy kill.

P.S. - I would like to thank anybody that helped me run TA Aether as I hated doing it (ty for moral support) and I would also suggest only doing this path once as it's not worth the 3 gold. I wrote this really late so if I missed anything sorry in advance. If you have any questions that concern any dungeon don't be afraid to ask me Very Happy now bye!

Sorrow's Embrace Path 1

Part 1 - Start the path and DON'T GO THROUGH THE PORTAL BEFORE THE NPC DOES,after you go through the portal jump over the fence onto the rock and wait for the trash to pass. Afterwards head down the path and take out the laser wall thing. Keep heading down and you'l run into this golem guy. He's super EZ, banners, might, burn him.

Part 2 - After the golem there are more of those annoying **** laser walls. Just break them and move along. Ok so now you have to fight next boss. Before his name turns red, run past him so you don't take ele aggro. Pull him down to the bottom of the slant and burn him down. Drop a stealth and run to the next part.

Part 3 - Move along and you'l find yourself in a room with 3 golems. ***Bring Reflects*** Stack on the corner where the right wall meets the shaft. I've always pulled the golem on the right first but you can pull whichever you want. Drop constant reflects as they run out, mightstack, ez.

Part 4 - On the final boss your party waits outside while somebody (ranged) pulls her. Stack on the corner by the wall and just auto her down, mightstack ez.

P.S. - Sorry I've been out due to real life stuff, But I will get all 25 paths on here before HoT comes out Very Happy Do note that if anything changes I most likely won't change it until I see it become popular. Have a nice day / morning / evening Wink
