Trouble making guild chat work

Actually, I'm not sure if "whisper" is working either. I know that guild chat worked at one time. Now I can't get the color of the message bar to change to reflect that I am talking in guild chat. For example, today, it stayed green instead of showing yellow like all the guild comments. Green is the color that shows comments I'm addressing to those in my "vicinity." Any ideas?

there is a drop down menu , that actually is a drop up menu , when you click on it you can change where your chat will go , this menu change where the chat will go but it doesn't change what you are seeing , so its possible that you are typing into the guild and not see it ... it took me a while to figure this out also.

exactly... drop menu should say:

guild
all
say
party
team

something like that...and you just check mark what type of chat you want to use... if you don't want all chat...you just cllick it off...I hope that helps...

A nice shortcut is to just go /g space then type what you want to say. Works with all chats. /p - party /s - say /m - map /t - team (WvW) and I believe /w is whisper but you have to type in the persons name so I never use that. I'm not sure you could count that as a shortcut.

Isaac, I've found that after I've gone to whisper, I can no longer get to the other chats i.e. the whisper mode doesn't recognize the "/" character. Otherwise your fix works beautifully.

Im still working this through. At the moment, I haven't been able to get on gw2 for the last 12 hours. I've reported it to Arena Net. When I try to get to a log-in window, I get "Connectivity Errors detected-retry" I'm not having any internet connectivity issues except with GW2.

I hope you all are having an easier time of things.
