The Way Of Lightness

The sky was a crystal blue, the sun out in plain sight, wind slowly blowing the brown and yellow leaves down the well worn gravel path. As Nathanial walked down the path, he realized he was being watched, his spine got cold as ice and he shivered from head to toe, at the same time goose bumps raised on both arms, and his nape hair stood on end. As he turned around to see whom was watching him...

He moved closer to the stanger, and with a shy voice he asked him "why are we meeting."

"Meeting you is going to cause my death, but it is what i have to do."

"I dont understand, how will you die?"

From a long distance a giant eagle comes flying and picks up the stranger right after he gave a scroll to nathanial.

flying away and screaming " hide it with your life ! "

He sat there and looked at the scroll. It was made out of some hide that he had never seen before.
It was old, covered with many small holes and wear markes from its travles.
Around it was wraped a red and gold ribbon with a seal attached to it. the seal had three small undesiferable ruins on it.

"Why?" he screamed to himself

"WHY! did i follow that note that was left on my door?"

"What have i got myself into?"

As night settled and the air got frigid, Nathanial said, "Least i will have something to kindle my fire."

"Who you calling fire kindle? You scarecrow", said a voice suddenly in the dark. Nathaniel jumped and dropped the scroll on the ground shouting, "Who's there and what do you want?"

"Ahh, stop your yelling,pick me up and ill explain what i know" said the voice. As Nathanial looks around he realized the scroll is whom was talking and slowly reaches down and picks it up.

the scroll says

" im a map , and the guy that drop me , stole me from my owner , its a princess in a castle far away , behind those dark mountains "

Nathaniel doesnt believe in what is ears bring to is brain

" you have to be kiding me , a speaking map drops from a guy that was taken by a giant eagle , the map as a owner and its a princess living in a castle behind those dark mountains "

His heart sunk, the mountains the scroll spoke off where the infamous BlackRidge Mountains

no one had survive the journey to them, nathans memories flashed back to his father who had been so folish to venture into the mountains years ago

his jaw clinched with resolve, his muscles tightened with haste and he set out with his sword

if he had known what he what he would soon learn he might have not been so hasty with his decsion...

BlackRidge Mountains were doom in his veins, Nathaniel’s mind and hearth whispered “Sheaaaahhh”…

“I must be getting crazy… HELP ME FATHER” he screamed with all of his strength, tapering the scroll in his left hand… the echo sounded perfidy… a mean voice, not his own…

“Handle me with care lad… or you’ll never going to find the princess” claimed the scroll voice

The fire danced now in his face more gently, a teardrop rolled over his cheeks and as it fell in his hand, he woke up from what it seemed to be a strange hypnosis

Nathan continued down to the creek he washed his face of the tears

"Whats wrong with me," he thought ,"why am i doing this."
he looked at the scroll,and the root that lay before him and continued his quest

"Boy, fill ur still with haste...me think one follows us"
Nathan's head hurt from the trance he had been in, yet he glanced around him the leaves rusled...shadows darted....the wind came to a stop..slowly Nathan turned around and dashed into the forest up the summit of the mountian...

finnally there came i a time when he could run no more, he had to set up camp...slowly he laid down to rest the moon casted its gaze his way
all was quiet has he fell asleep
he thought of his family
his father his purpose
then the heard a growl accompaind but a shortness of breath

it wasnt to b a short night....

He sat jolt upright, holding his breath. He looked to the left, then right, and behind him, but could see nothing...

Suddenly, out of one of the evergreen trees above him sprung some kind of creature. It was too dark to make it out, he just knew it was probably vicious, and hungry. Just as he managed to grab his sword, the beast pinned him to the ground, snarling and breathing a hot breath all over his face.

With a grin on his face, the beast was confused, but not unfocused. As the beast began to feast upon him, it knew why he was grinning, but it was too late ...

SEEERCH! BASH! and wimpering afterwards, the beast flew into the air and crashed on the spike-like rocks nearby. Nathaniel managed to recognize the trap close to him. But he immediately wondered who made it? ...

With victory in his eyes, he smiled for a short moment, and then went to investigate the carcass ....

He looked down at the blood matted fur, and decided he shouldn't waste any meat. Thinking quickly, he cut it into strips, which he set out to dry for future meals.

He then went to look for the one who set the trap, much to the scrolls dismay,

"Hey, what about our quest?' protested the scroll. "Don't you want to see a beautiful princess?"

On the other side of the planet , there is a huge black vulcano on a small island that starts erupting.

the princess wakes up, runs down to the garden, jumps and dives into a sea of bushes.
