Andrea for Knight

I would like to promote Andrea back to Knight. I really believe that she is ready for it. She regrets ever leaving, but it was the best choice at the time for her. I know there were some issues of game stress, but I think that was only because game stress was compounding some major stresses in her real life. She is back to normal now and she really wants to be a part of our team again. We also really need someone recruiting in that time. Because of Aaron's job, he isn't really in that time slot we need the most recruiting.

While I love Andrea, I do not feel she is ready for it. I see this more of part of the ongoing cycle with her, of being an officer, not being an officer, being an officer, not being an officer.

I know we all love her, but really, if you watch, you will see that we all treat her like she is fragile, and a lot of that is because she has proven herself to be in an emotionally rollercoastery time in her life. She means well, as she always does, but I really think she needs more time before we give her another go.

As it stands, we tend to wait a few weeks and say "ok, we gave it enough time" with a lot of decisions we make. I really see this as something more long term. Like, let's see how she is in 3 months, or 6 months. Remember, it was only a few weeks ago that we had a thread about this same topic:

I still feel like Andrea is not ready yet. She is really sweet, but she needs more time. I feel like promoting her now would be pressuring her. I agree with Kitty on waiting a few months before considering promoting her again.

This issue did get blown out of proportion, but it was big and ugly to begin with.  I agree that this thread was not the appropriate place for this side topic to brought up.  I've talked to Andrea and we've decided that it is best just to drop the whole issue.  Even if Kara has the best intentions in returning, the environment here is too poisonous.  It is not a welcoming environment.  Andrea knows this now and if Kara talks to her again she will put an end to it.  

I think that Andrea's intentions were noble and good.  She wanted to try and fix something.  Heal a wound.  It is in her nature as a nurse.  She wants to prove that she can do something good for the guild.  She really does want to be officer again.  I didn't notice her as a revolving door.  She had a crisis and stepped down.  There was a little back and forth during the crisis, but that was only because we tried to support her and tell her she was fine when she really wasn't.  At the time, leaving was the best thing for her.  

If anyone in the guild had a crisis and needed to leave, I would wish them the best and let them go.  If they saw fit to come back I would welcome them with open arms no questions asked.  All this hand wringing and worrying about Andrea is touching, but SHE says she is ready.

Yeah Beau you make a good point about Andrea being the one to decide when she is ready, moreso than any of the rest of us. It is still, however, up to us to decide if we wish to place her back in the role.

I think nobody here doubts that she has the best of intentions and nothing but love for all of us, even our problem children.

In terms of revolving door, there was a time before her departure from guild and game, where she stepped down, asked ratche to mark her ally, and several days later she came back as a knight. I know there was a thread posted at the time, but it got deleted upon her return (not sure who/why). I think it was Yuri or someone else that posted somewhere saying "I might be going crazy, I thought I saw a thread about her becoming ally." after it got deleted, lol.

In any case, it was only two instances where she actually left, the first one being only for a few days. But it's more just watching her feel terrible about how to handle political stress, and seeing what it did to her emotionally. Also she seemed to always feel like she wasn't doing enough.

It pained me to see her in so much emotional distress, and I think my concerns come out of that (over)protectiveness that many of us feel for her.

But yes, you are right, ultimately the point is that SHE feels she is ready to return. And it is up to her, not us, to decide how she feels.

But remember, it is up to us to decide if WE are ready. I'm not saying we're not. I think I care too much about her emotional health, having had a lot of heart-to-heart talks with her, to be objective in this decision maybe.

So having said that, I think I will not take part in the actual final vote on this matter. I am very protective of her emotional well being. <3

Who knows Andrea better than anyone else? If she believes the time has come I'm all for it.

Its her choice if she wants to be officer. If she wants to be an officer again, then im all for it.

I know, I said I wasn't going to weigh in on the final vote because I am too protective of her. <3

Andrea and I talked last night.  I have a better understanding of her current position and admire her drive and conviction.  And after having talked to her about this, and explaining to her why I am so protective of her, and hearing her feelings and beliefs, I feel that I trust her gut on this one.

So, for what it's worth, I am in complete support of her return. <3

agreed Kitty, she does seem different since she has come back. If she wants it, we give it to her.

After reading all the comments about how Andrea herself feels that she is ready to come back to officership I am more than happy YES to re-promoting her! She definitely has my vote. ^-^

btw if we have agreement for promoting hardie to officer pls let me promote ok ? xD
