Officer's Specialties and Duties
Here is the current list of officers and their Specialties and Duties as I understand them. I did not spend a lot of time on this. I need your help adding things and filling in blanks. I need volunteers. I need IDEAS. I want to take this more seriously than last time. No "fluff" titles or jobs.
I would like two people to take on the task of monitoring non-representing members. Once I have two volunteers, we will discuss guidelines.
Every officer should take some small responsibility for recruiting in their own way. However, I would like a couple more people to take on recruiting as a primary duty.
I would like to make one more person Forum Administrator besides myself.
Grooming Soldiers for Squire could be a duty. (Forum and Teamspeak promotion).
Daily Activity List:
I would like to see every officer take on at least one daily activity a week. We can have
more than one activity scheduled for each day. Try to take different people each week.
Especially focus on newer members or members that may not be as active in the guild.
Monday: Ascalonian Catacombs (1am GMT) (Beau)
Tuesday:
Wednesday: Jumping Puzzles (1am GMT) (Kara)
Thursday: Crucible of Eternity & Sorrow's Embrace All Paths (4pm GMT) (Srg_Farr)
Friday: Hide and Seek! Living Story Achievements: (Beau)
Saturday: Guild Missions / Fractal Training (1am GMT) (Kara & Beau)
Sunday: Guild Missions / Fractal Training (4pm GMT) (Mr Tech)
Can you think of any other duties??????

Re: Officer's Specialties and Duties
Good deal Zero! The main thing you need to do as forum admin is assist me in registering new members. Is your registered e-mail a valid e-mail that you check?
You will receive e-mails asking you to approve new members. I can also show you some tricks in the admin panel at some point. As we saw from recent changes I tried to implement people don't like much change, so don't tamper too much.
I like to be sure that new registrations are actually members. I also like to get them verified quickly! So, if you can beat me to them that would be great.

Thank you Jolly! I will help with the Non-representing members as well. I would like one more officer to coordinate with the two of us. I will create a Google spread sheet to help us track them.
I would also like to see one or two more officers commit to recruiting.
And a couple of officers to commit to coddling our newbies

Re: Officer's Specialties and Duties
Put me up for non-rep tracking.
For the other activities, as you know I tinker a bit with everything... These days mostly PvE and PvP. But as most of you know as well, I'm kind of in the middle of a big move to Israel, and once I'm done packing and shipipng all my stuff over there, I'll be without my home PC for about 2 months. So I don't want to commit to anything because I'll probably be away from the game for at least those 2 months + the time I need to setup internet and settle down in my new home.

Re: Officer's Specialties and Duties
I am available for anything! I spend a lot of time on the Forum as well as Facebook and I would love to help out!
I dabble in a bit of everything EXCEPT I don't know ANYTHING about PvP or WvW.
I love teaching people dungeons, fractals and JPs or just going along for the fun of it :-D
I would like to help out with as many different things as possible, but I think recruiting on the off hours should be something we should strongly focus on!
I am a constant fixture in TS and GC so I could perhaps start to help groom our other members for potential promotion??

I will update the above to add Kara. Other officers should take a look and see if they are living up to what we agreed to. Make changes if necessary?

Re: Officer's Specialties and Duties
It may be worth while to revisit this and work out who is happy doing their 'jobs' or those who have not been doing them/had time for..
Or even others that can do more or change what they are doing.

Re: Officer's Specialties and Duties
We've talked about making these duties more serious. We made these claim, then we really do nothing with it. We need to take this more seriously. I want every officer to pick a night/day (or more) of the week, and something they will lead/train regularly. Let's not talk about this and forget it again. I want to see it done.
I also expect to see every officer reply to this thread. If this thread is not replied to by the end of this week, you will be put on probation as an officer.
Monday Ascalonian Catacombs (Beau)
Tuesday
Wednesday Jumping Puzzles (1am GMT) (Kara)
Thursday
Friday: Hide and Seek! Living Story Achievements: (Beau)
Saturday: Guild Missions / Fractal Training (1am GMT) (Kara & Beau)
Sunday: Guild Missions / Fractal Training (4pm GMT) (Mr Tech & Bhukk)
There can be more than one activity on any given day, but it would be nice to have something everyday.

I regularly do teaching runs for dungeons and fractals throughout the week as people are requesting them, same with JPs..
I am however happy to set up a scheduled morning/ngiht to run something :-)

Re: Officer's Specialties and Duties
I would like to see officers taking the position more seriously. I love our casual feel and never want to pressure anyone; but as we move to the expansion, we need people who will stay on top of things. Keep up with new content. People who will keep the guild interesting. People who will actually lead groups and keep our members active (new members, not just your usual crew). We cannot keep treating the Knight position as just a title of honor. Officer should mean that we take our position somewhat seriously and want to WORK to make the guild a fun place for members. If you are not willing to treat the position as something more than just an honorary title, maybe Squire would be a better position for you.

Re: Officer's Specialties and Duties
I am happy to take over leading saturday's Guild Missions and I am really quite enjoying it tbh!
I am more than happy to lead/teach fractals, dungeons (except Arah) and jumping puzzles, assist in TS and GC monitoring, grooming members for promotion, activity organising/party organising, I am admin on facebook, I work on recruiting whenever I get a chance (it is always on my mind)
In saying all that.. I dont want to do too much and take things away from other officers, if noone steps up and wants to take them on.. I will do all I can, but I would really like to see some people taking this up and making it your own projects/babies!
Lets prove that we can be the leaders/teachers this guild truly needs :-D

Re: Officer's Specialties and Duties
So far, only Kara, Mr. Tech, Bhukk and I have scheduled events. We can have more than one event per day. Many time zones to consider. It would be nice if all events didn't happen at (1pm GMT). You can take on more than one. I don't think this is too much to ask. I can't wait to get Aaron in to schedule WvW practice and someone for PvP.

Re: Officer's Specialties and Duties
I am going to re-bump this as I think it is REALLY important!!!
As officers we have an obligation, we need to be leaders, teachers, examples of what this guild is all about!!!
Personally I would really like to see the other officers truly taking a claim to their 'specialties and duties' as I kinda don't see it happening atm
Don't use the officer rank as a 'title' and nothing more, you have been offered the position... make sure you're living up to what is expected!
I know each and every one of AoL's officers have some amazing things to bring to this guild... how about we start putting it into action!

Re: Officer's Specialties and Duties
Been brought up a few times lately, and it was generally thought of as a bad idea. Some people dont make as much gold as others. Some people spend alot of gold on guildies to help out or to use as rewards and rely on the gold they get throughout the week to help fund the kindheartedness that many of us try to be.
