Officer activities
I was talking to Diablo today and he brought up some good points. ONe thing we need to work on is more officer run activities. I know we do dungeons, fractals etc. And that Dal is getting WvW kicked in, but I was thinking of other things, Diablo talked about a mat run, I think running around the maps and getting t6 mats. I was also thinking about area tours. taking new people through areas and helping them complete hearts, or even giving them a tour of world event waypoints. Anything really.
Also if someone could take charge of a second set of guild missions, for our players in other parts of the world. It doesn't have to be big. you could get 5 or so people together and do a bounty, just going after the easier target.

Re: Officer activities
I wouldn't mind helping with area tours or helping new players. I'm always open when it comes to helping new guild members, especially if they are new to the game.
I can ask if anyone would like to do a bounty during the middle of the day/week. I know we have a lot more interest in it then. You might have to show me how to set it up, but I wouldn't mind.

Re: Officer activities
Maybe we could do guild groups for champ zergs? I don't know if many people do it, but I know especially with Queensdale some lowbies don't know about it or know the order, and it's a good way to level. Otherwise I can't think of anything cause you guys are amazing and have all the good ideas ;o;

Re: Officer activities
Alsoooo this might be more like an event than an activity, but I was just noticing forums showing people's birthdays. Maybe we could have a fund to give something small to guildies on their birthdays or something? Maybe every week do a little thing for people who have birthdays that week? *o*

Re: Officer activities
One problem with the Birthday idea is that.  Very few of the new members have registered on the forum and there is nearly a decades worth of people who are ancient history.  However, it may be an incentive to get people to register on the forum.  We will  have to make sure people know about it  And the lotto coming up should inspire more people to get on the forum.

hmm if you all could figure out a way to make it work, I like the birthday idea. We just have to make sure we don't miss anyone that is active.

Re: Officer activities
I was thinking along the same lines as using it as incentive to register on forums. Maybe put some stipulation in there that they have to have been active in game within a certain time period or something? If they don't register, nothing for them! Gotta do your part, yo.

That thing Dia was using could work. People need at least 1 achievement point in the last month to qualify or something maybe?

Re: Officer activities
Might be more of an event than an activity again, but my old guild would sometimes do movie nights which might be fun...basically group skype session with a movie (though I'm not 100% sure how to screen share on there) or stream from a site and get on ts to talk through it...just some togetherness time that does not require a ton of grind etc...probably not a lot of people will do it if they have only 1 monitor but could be worth a shot?

Re: Officer activities
Well yesterday I did a "found heirlooms" run to get peeps the achievement. Also worked on some of their missing missions in New Age LA. Lots of people go there these days so it's worth helping out.
I like the movie idea but it would require people to be on for a couple of hours... Also, what if you miss the beginning? Can you start watching where others are when you join in or do you have to watch the movie from the beginning?

We can do a skype call, have one person run the movie on their end, and with skype options you can video your screen allowing everyone else to see the movie

Re: Officer activities
Honestly imo T6 mat runs are a bit of waste of time, those mat runs take too much time compared to the T6 you can get by farming some other stuff, i.e. champ runs.
I think we do need to do some guild led mapping for the new people. I know several officers that also need it.
I think one of the things we need to concentrate on is that if we do have these officer led events we need to have as many officers attending them as possible, otherwise it's always gonna be on a small amount of people that will be coming. Take my Saturday WvW days, we have often have only maybe 3-7 people that show up to it consistently. As long we as officers don't start supporting each other by attending these events they aren't going to be gain any momentum like we would like to see. People in our guild often associate us officers as the "popular kids" and if they start seeing that we are doing things together it should in theory naturally bring them in as well.
I do really like the skype movie night btw.

Also I think we need to start utilizing TS a little more often, I think it encourages the guild to be more close when we're all on TS.
